Valtcan Sharp Nipper Model Kit Pointed Side Cutter (White)

I ordered these thinking they might just be slightly better than the ones I currently use, a set of craft nippers from a local craft store. But, I was pleasently surprised by how clean the cuts are when using these.I use them for resin and plastic models, clipping pieces off sprue. They've been excellent this far, and I have used them consistently since I ordered them, to the detriment of my old set.One addition, they come in a nice carry pouch of leather or suede, which I find keeps them out of little wandering hands I have around my house. The pouch is also well made and very nice.Recommend, especially for the price.

The product package is excellent and had exceeded my expectations.This is a company who cares about their customers in a very good respectful way.The tool has a sharp tip so they delivered a cab to cover it and another nice little bag for storage.I bought a similar tool from japan and it costed 4 times as much of this tool and there was nothing like this care came with it.My regards to the company who manufactured that product and to the genius marketing people behind it... well done guys.

I have several side cutters, many are much more expensive- none are better than these. They are sharp and very strong going through 12ga wire like butter and also able to do small detail work. Excellent value.

Sharp and has a clean cut. Its craftsmanship looks questionable with the rigid edges. Overall decent.

The nipper blades are very sharp and thin which makes it easy to do precision cutting. They also come in a very nice storage pouch.

The pictures are a bit misleading. These look like they are similar to the God Hands nippers but they are not. The God Hands are a very thin nipper that does not spread the plastic as it is cut, causing tearing. However these are thinner than the $5.00 nippers so they do a better job. Overall these are an above average nipper but I would not use them on a really thin part like a railing for a model ship. For the price, I would stick with the $5.00 nippers.The big negative is the packaging. They come in an imitation leather pouch and they are not easy to get out. This is a bit of a pain if you are regularly modeling but not a real issue because once out, they do not ever need to be put back in.

I really enjoy these clippers. I wanted to get into miniatures and other projects where I could need something like this. They are a lot cheaper than other brands I have seen, plus they have an easy storage case for on the go.

EDITI noticed while packing these to send them back that they have stress fractures along the cutting edge. So, what I thought was good manufacturing standards is actually just on the surface,The edge geometry is such that cutting anything over 0.5mm thick creates shrapnel. Even trying to work into a piece by taking small cuts from different angles causes breaks and pieces to fly off in unexpected ways. These clippers require considerable force to use and the small handle diameter wears out your hand but they aren't overly uncomfortable even with hand fatigue. The edge geometry neutralizes any side cutting ability that these clippers possess. You are paying for a bad design with good manufacturing standards and two sheaths, one for the blades and one which was designed for much larger clippers. I got so frustrated after an hour of using them that I grabbed my gardening shears and had better results. YMMV.

Diese Zange habe ich verschenkt an einen sehr kritischen Bastler. Er war schon von der Verpackung begeistert und vom tadellosen Schnitt auf Papier. Eine Zange ohne Wate, also glatter Schnitt, ohne zu reißen.

I have been searching for a long time for a decent pair of fine nosed side cutters. These are the best I've bought so far. Excellent manufacturing with a smooth finish and nice rubbery grips that don't slip or slide. The tool feels comfortable to hold and is fairly light for what it is. For some strange reason these come with a leather sheath to cover the head. While I can see that this will help to prolong the life of the cutting head and hinge, it was a completely unexpected addition. First time I've seen that. The whole thing comes inserted into a thick felt pouch. Nice, but, well let's just say it confused me for a moment. Not complaining though, at least I know where the things are when I need them, rather than trying to figure out where I left them. The other nice thing about these is that they have a good edge on them, sharp, fine and efficient.While I am still looking for a tool like this with a finer head, these are a treasured addition to my toolbox and will get a lot of use. Worth every penny for the quality, and the unexpected additions.***edited to add.I purchased these two years ago (2020), and they have not lost their edge, the grips are not worn and they are still working just fine. The spring mounted in the handles snapped recently. Okay, so the spring open doesn't work any more but they are still great cutters. I have bought a new pair, sometimes when cutting a lot of items from a sprue that spring is really helpful. But, the old ones will still get some use.To put this wear and tear into perspective. I use these daily when messing around with my various hobbies. So, they are used a lot. Not just once or twice, but frequently on a daily basis. I am really pleased with these, and will buy another pair when I have to replace the two I have now.

super happy with these, they cut very close, they are sharp and cut very clean leaving very very little clean up after.
