Genius
I’ve only half-learned a couple from the first book so far, but have also been inspired to buy lots of Bert’s amazing albums and these books have improved my playing. I’ve never been so stretched but it’s inspiring, something to aim for. He was utterly unique

A labour of love, and a work of academical quality
This book (and its prequel) are a labour of love. If you admire the work of Bert Jansch (and why else would you be reading this?), and you're an intermediate or advanced fingerstyle guitarist, then the only reason not to buy this book is that you haven't bought volume 1 already. It has flawless transcriptions with performance notes detailing live variations, and detailed analysis of his playing style and techniques. While the first book had a few welcome pages dedicated to Bert's guitars, this delves more into aspects of his technique, and is occasionally studded with tribute quotes from the likes of Neil Young, Martin Simpson and Beth Orton. If you're reading this, and you're looking for fingerstyle books that will stretch your skills, buy both volumes (in either order). The only thing that's missing now is a transcription of Casbah (before the Veronica/Casbah track listing confusion)
