This is a fantastic book! Thank you Mr Philips.
Saw this book while waiting for my chicken roti lunch in Horizon Foods Edmonton (rotis to die for) and had to purchase it straight away.I will now be working through the book and ticking off the restaurants, takeaways and shops that I have already been to and the ones that I plan to visit, regardless of the fact that some of them are many miles from where I live in North London. It's a fab book and I am glad to know that the Evening Standard thought it worthy of a write up.There are only a thousand copies so you best grab one ASAP. It is worth every penny.

A beautiful memorialisation of the British Carribbean food scene
Such a beautiful collection of stories to memorialise the British Caribbean food scene. This book touches me in a special way and will remain on my coffee table for all to read.

Buy for the pics alone
Interesting publishing story (Phillips self-published when he failed to secure a book deal). Fantastic photography and some great stories but the prose is a bit leaden. Credit to the author for producing such a lovely looking volume independently but this book would have really benefited from an editor/proofreader. Still, the pictures alone are worth the purchase.
