Been using this for a while and it has helped with the algae in my tank. While it comes already bagged for use in larger aquariums, I have a 20 gal and use it in smaller mesh bags in my HOB filter. I can't say enough how much the SeaChem products have improved my tank quality! Love my healthy tank and fish!

I started with 10ppm of phosphate in my 40 gallon tank. The first packet became saturated in about 4 days. I am on my second packet, and my reading is between 1ppm, and 0.5ppm. This was my target. I'll leave the packet in for a few more days and then replace it with Fluval ClearCarb to maintain my desired level.

Got this to help with brown diatomaceous algae I cant seem to get rid of. I opted to not buy the expensive silicate test kit and just try one of these since they're literally $5 and lo and behold my problem is fading away. Thank gosh man. Def glad I found this product! This product works as described, and I recommend it to others. I was having a phosphates problem for a while in my salt water tank at work because some of my macro algae had broken down in a spot I couldn't reach and was decaying there. I also, unbeknownst to me for a while, had an reverse osmosis/de-ionization filter system that wasn't pulling all the phosphates out of my top-off water. Bottom line, I was able to get the problem in better control using PhosGuard. That's good because the excess phosphates were really feeding some hair algae that had sprung up in my tank. The one thing that you have to note about this product is that it really needs to be in a place where it gets good water circulation over the media. I haven't had much luck in applications where there isn't much flow going directly over the PhosGuard. Additionally, depending on the prices at the time of purchase, you may be able to save money by buying a bag for the PhosGuard and buying the larger quantities of PhosGuard. Once when I did the math, it was about the same price to just keep buying these 100 mL bags, but the next time I needed some it was cheaper to buy the bag and the larger bottle of PhosGuard. Apparently the price of these fluctuate a bit. Other than that, I recommend this to others trying to keep phosphates under control.

Works good!

I just had shoulder surgery in December. I was still changing the water out every 2-3 days because my algea blooms were so bad and I couldn't see through my 36 gallon aquarium. I tried the algae light too I don't recommend! . After talking with Alexa AI for a while he recommended Phosguard. I'm on my 6th day today! I bought the test kit and 4 bags. I followed the directions and changed out the bag on the fourth day. The 5th day was better and I think tomorrow it will be totally normal! Best buy ever! Needless to say my shoulder is still jacked up but I'm so happy not to be hauling water anymore!

I love this stuff, I use it once a month in my 55 gallon.

Ive had problems with brown algae in my 75 gallon tank for ages,I came across a video of this product and thought i'd give it a try. Best move ever,controls the algae for weeks and when i see new algae i just put in a new pack and its gone. I would totally recommend this product to anyone with an algae problem

Original Seachem product. My water had a lot of phosphates and had diatom nightmare and this product reduced a very little bit. The best thing I recommend installing a UV filter will kill floating diatom to some extent and control it by doing more water changes. The seller is a good and genuine Seachem product
