Much simpler than other microwaves.
I like the old fashioned analogue dials. One for temperature and one for time. What could be simpler? We have a mechanical stop watch that we keep in the kitchen for all timings main oven, microwave, making pasta in a pot. The kind that is used at manually timed high school track meets. That is 100 times easier to use than a bunch of push buttons you have to set on other microwaves and other timers.Temperature control works very well from very low to full power.Very reliable after a year or so.The bottom plate is glass and is dishwasher safe for heavy cleaning, or just wipe it off with a paper towel if it's not very dirty.Downside:The bottom dish revolves but you have to place it correctly and it moves off the hooks sometimes when you slide/drag your dish of whatever out of the oven at the end. So, then take 5 seconds to lift up the plate and place it back on the hooks. Otherwise the plate will not revolve and make noises the next time you use the oven. This is the 'noises' other people complain of.The bottom plate is thin and will break if dropped most likely. Be careful when you lift it out to clean it.Wonderful microwave if you want simple and quick without the frustrating programming of digital stuff.

MICROWAVE Westinghouse Model WCMH 900B Black GLAD I GOT IT!
I'm very glad I got this Westinghouse microwave. The other one that we had, that just bit the dust, exactly two years from date of purchase, was a West Bend. What a junker. Pieces were starting to fall off and it was starting to do crazy stuff like continue to cook when the door was opened. I called West Bend..they took a "report". They don't care.. It was kind of a "sucks to be you" attitude. I felt like they wanted to say, yes old lady, that is awful, but how can we make money if your appliances last longer than two years.. Business is business! Regarding this Westinghouse model WCMH900B, it has two round knobs. The upper one is for low to high and defrost. The bottom one is how many minutes, 1 to 30.. Yay, that's all I want. I am in my 60s. I have vision problems and arthritis in my right hand. All I have to do is turn knobs, just like in the olden days. No programming of things, with flat pads that I can't see without my glasses and don't need or understand how to use. It also had digital red numerals, I'm not a fan.. I just want to heat water and maybe a plate of food. The only tiny thing I would even say that I wish was on it would be that the knobs could have handles that can be grabbed like an old kitchen timer, like they have on the white version of this, but I didnt want white. The light doesnt stay on inside when the door is opened and there is no clock.. if anybody cares about that..I don't care.. The microwave is so light, that if I dont hold it steady when pulling the door open, the whole thing moves forward a little bit.. I can find some rubber feet..I don't care.. These are so minor that I suppose they aren't even worth mentioning, but someone might like to know.. So far, so good ...Received item October 17, 2017

Good, simple but limited lifetime
Bought in 2017, ran fine, and it just died now, 4 years later. Actually, it won't heat food very much anymore. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to get it again as the control is simple enough for elderly relative who doesn't like digital push buttons. The many negative reviews about poor quality and early failure are making me want another brand but the old style rotary controlsare hard to find so I may have buy this one again. Fingers crossed.

Just What I Was Looking For
This microwave has what I was looking for.Let me explain why.My parents bought me a Sharp Half-Pint Microwave Oven back in the mid 80s.400 watts output ; 860 watts inputOnly one control - A timer up to 15 minutes.Simple, quick.Loved it.Best of all, @ 860 watts input I could run it off of my Yamaha 1000 watt generator on my little cabin cruiser. So that's where I kept it.But, I needed one for home so I picked up another used one on Ebay. This one was the updated model with touch keypad.Otherwise, same oven.Hated it.Compared to the simple dial I was used to it was too much trouble to push all of those buttons.Thankfully, it soon died and I needed a replacement. So, I bought another old school Half-Pint w/dial.Happy again. Then, last month IT died.30 year old microwave !Not bad.So, needed a new dial microwave that would accept my 11 5/8" plates.More power would be nice.Found this Westinghouse.Only had it 3 days but I love it.To the folks who are reading this and wondering about the simple controls let me say that they are wonderful timesaver.Combined with the power-setting dial and 900 watt output this oven offers all that I was looking for.I could NEVER go back to a keypad.

Dementia Ready (Retracted)
How does one rate a microwave that is cheaply made, but is simple to operate? Our last microwave had 40 buttons and could cook anything. It might as well have been a rubics cube. For someone with dementia, 40 buttons become 40 too many, eventually. Two dials will eventually become trigonometry, but it gives time and some measure of self esteem to those who knew what they were once capable of. As for the microwave itself, it is noisy, hard to see food cooking and produces RF interference. It would be nice to see a quality dial microwave with simplified controls, but this is good enough, and for some of our elderly it's equivalent to an invention such as the light bulb!UPDATE: One thing I had not considered was the ease of setting cook time to 30 minutes. For someone with dementia, this can be set and forget, while a frozen dinner can literally catch fire. Also, with high temperature of the microwave's contents, the microwave itself can get very hot. In other words, it's a fire hazard! I fashioned a stop to prevent time settings higher than 5 minutes after exactly what I described happened. I suspect the manufacturer and even the retailer may object to that modification, and maybe they would be right to. If there is a "Dementia Ready" microwave, it's not this one.

Very nice microwave without the electronics!
The microwave has two dials-one for power level and the other as a timer. This closely matches the one I've had for 30 years sans the rotating plate. I give it 4 stars only because I'm still trying to figure out what power levels to be using when cooking/heating various food. Also, if the container is too heavy, the plate has trouble rotating properly. Overall, I really like this microwave and I'm glad not to deal with an electronic keypad found on most microwaves, which I find extremely annoying.
