It's hard to tell the difference from the picture cuz I have a bad camera, but in real life the look is visibly clear, and the feel is too. The line is thinner and very consistent in thickness, at least for my type of writing, which is mostly for math problems. It also doesn't have the sharp feeling when you first touch a normal pencil's tip on the paper. The build is nice, not super robust but you can tell it's a quality piece. I wish I knew about this earlier!

I've been using the Uni Kurutoga Mechanical Pencil Standard for a while now, and I have to say, it's a mixed bag. On the one hand, the rotating lead mechanism is pretty cool and keeps the tip sharp, which is great for writing and drawing. The pencil itself feels sturdy and well-made. However, it just feels like a regular pencil to me tbh. The grip is comfortable, but I wish it had a bit more cushioning. Overall, it's a good pencil with some innovative features

This is the best mech pencil I have ever owned. Bought 2 more for my brothers, 1 more for myself as backup. It writes like silk and self-sharpens because the lead is continually rotating out, so there is no flat spot like other mech pencils. Instructions are all in Japanese, so had to do some tricks to get it translated. But to refill the lead, remove the eraser and there is small hole to insert a new stick of lead. No place to store extra led in the pencil itself but that's a minuscule inconvenience compared to the precision and writing pleasure this pencil offers.

It’s supposed to rotate each time you lift your pencil off the paper but I continuously write without lifting it when drawing I’ve noticed the lineart is very consistent when I consciously lift the pencil off the paper, given I don’t normally consciously look at my pencil every time it touches the paper so its definitely not the greatest for art but probably not the worst depending on how you draw, as for how I write I really can’t tell a difference because I guess I write weird where I don’t lift my pencil off the paper , the only difference I found though in my writing is that it looks crisper , I’ve had it since last year this spring for college and it’s been working pretty good

Works like a charm.I literally don’t have spin the pencil constantly to make sure it’s on the best part of the lead when writing or sketching.
