Thoughtful and Innovative...A Must-Read!
There are a lot of questions surrounding the perfect way to live a healthy life. So many fad diets, extreme workouts, and supplements promise users to lose weight and build the ideal body. Yet what most people don’t always realize is that when it comes to losing and maintaining weight, the way we eat is the only proper vehicle for controlling that. Exercise is excellent for a person’s mental health and toning muscle, as well as helping improve other aspects of a person’s health, but weight can only be controlled through ingesting food. Yet with all of the different types of dieting and food circling around the world, finding the right balance and necessity for eating is not an easy thing.In this book, the author does a fantastic job of writing a clear-cut, concise workbook that details the instructions for readers perfectly. The desire to craft the perfect circumstances for a fast, not a fast that becomes detrimental to both your physical and mental health, but a controlled fast that works with your life and mindset, made this a compelling read, and the direct and honest approach the author had to this subject matter impacted the connection the author shared with this books message. The way the author emphasizes the need to find foods that complement this controlled fasting makes this an intriguing read as well, allowing the reader to gain an education in fasting and health needs that aren’t always available to readers. A definite must-read.

This workbook serves as a companion to Dr. Mindy Pelz's Fast Like a Girl. It is an interactive experience that draws the Reader in to work with Pelz's text and create a fully planned diet.The book refers to concepts like the benefits of fasting, such as metabolic switching alternating between burning glucose and ketones for fuel. It also emphasizes how fasting is particularly important for women's bodies. It helps with certain concerns such as maintaining balance between the hormones that rise and fall each month.The book also suggests various ways to make the fasting process easier and more effective such as talking to doctors and medical professionals and doing an intermittent fasting process of a few hours instead of rushing into a 24-48 hour fast. It also offers suggestions on how to break the fast to be careful and safe in the period between fasting and eating. This process ensures that readers don't fall into dangerous traps like developing eating disorders. These suggestions allow the individual to control the fasting process to be healthy rather than do something dangerous and jeopardize their health further.Each chapter contains several exercises that allow Readers to implement various strategies. Reassuring
Something I didn’t expect was the very beginning. The book starts off with telling the readers how to use the book and that is the first time I have ever seen something like that. I was taken aback from the title and I’m glad it was nothing like I expected. I like how it reassures the readers that everyone’s body is different and that some diets will benefit others but there are ones that would work for their own body. I enjoyed how this book broke every down. Something people don’t think about when it comes to improving your own body are cells. I never thought about that but this book explained to me how important our cells are when losing weight, specifically metabolism. Another part of the book that was fun to read is how at the end of every chapter it had goals, action steps, and checklists.

Strongly recommended
This book has all you need to learn about fasting even if you have been fasting or you are new to fasting. After reading this book I feel like I have been doing intermittent fasting wrong. This book explains how women and men body work differently during fasting. This book has lots of tips and tricks for fasting from start to end.
