Center Stage: On Pointe [DVD]

A weak sequel. Watch the original instead!
As a dance fan I enjoyed the original Centre Stage movie. The story might have been weak but the actors were all professional dancers and the dance scenes were excellent. I cannot say the same for this poor sequel. The lead was a weak dancer and the choreography did nothing for the better dancers in the cast. The script seemed to have been written by an eight year old with no knowledge of dance. I am so bored of the stereotypical snooty ballet dancers looking down on other forms of dance. All ballet companies perform contemporary pieces these days. Watch the first film. Don't bother with the sequels!

Great fun get up and do it kind of film!
Sometimes your not always liked for your talent. But go ahead and do it anyway. I succeeded at Rambert at 26. So just go for it don't listen to the hate. Have a bit if self belief and courage it will all pay off in the end. You will make friends if you don't give up. Someone will recognise your gift!!!

Atrocious modern dance.
I am a big fan of ballet and modern dance. This was quite atrocious to be perfectly honest. The leading role, although a very pleasant and likeable person, was a poor dancer with a limited scope of movement and stretch for a ballerina.

Not like Centre Stage
This film obviously attempts to emulate the superior Centre Stage. It's poor, with a low standard storyline and disappointing if you enjoyed its predecessor. Not worth buying.

An enjoyable film
An enjoyable film with some great dancing and an absorbing storyline. I have seen the other centre stage films and this wasn't a let down by any means.
