D**S
Very flimsy, awful quality and vastly overpriced
Very disappointed with this shed. For the price, I expected something a little stronger than a typical plastic shed, but this is the worst I have ever seen. To start with, the metal frame is not "clad" (i.e. covered) in plastic to protect it from the elements, as the description claims. It is exposed to the weather; and to make matters worse on the one I received, it was badly scratched, making it suceptible to corrosion. The walls and the roof panels are unbelievably thin and flimsy. So much so, in fact, that the manual warns against leaning "any object" against the walls (even though the product photo misleadingly shows otherwise). It also requires owners to regularly brush leaves and snow from the roof. Having seen just how thin and weak these panels are, I would be surprised if the shed lasts even one winter. The doors' metal framework seems to be just pop-riveted to the plastic panels, and there is an alarming degree of movement between the two, raising questions of security and rainwater ingress. The manufacturer's solution to the latter is for owners to apply silicone mastic (not supplied) to the joints, as well as around bolt holes in the roof. That's a terrible design and, what is more, the mastic has to be reapplied periodically at the owners expense: time consuming and something I could well do without (I purchased a plastic shed because I wanted a relatively maintenance-free model). The plastic floor panel is very soft, so if you want to stand something like a set of shelves in the shed, you daren't place anything heavy on them because the shelves' feet will just sink in. The only solution is to buy a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood and line the floor with it - again additional expense and not something that one would expect to have to do with a shed costing this much. (My old Voyager 63 shed is very much stronger, doesn't need silicone mastic to make it weatherproof, and is currently not much more than half the price.)To compound all of these problems, the Duramax shed I received was damaged, presumably because the packaging was totally inadequate for such a heavy object (a couple of sheets of paper and some sticky tape inside the box). I returned it, but the supplier (Sheds Warehouse) has, so far, refused a full refund. They claim that there is nothing wrong with the shed and have charged me £86 to send it back (nothing like the £3.99 they charge for the initial delivery). I am currently awaiting Amazon's decision on my A-to-Z claim against the supplier.EDIT: Amazon has upheld my claim, so the supplier has now given a complete refund. It's a pity it has taken so long, and not exactly in accordance with the "no-quibble" returns policy that they boast about on their web site.
