Good packaging, seems durable, and it's comfortable. I have a giant head. If "one-size fits most" usually disqualified you. This should work pretty well. I'll most likely buy another one if it does the job on the trip I got it for. For the price, hard to beat.

My son has a couple Melin hats that he loves, but they are super expensive, so wearing them everywhere isn't realistic. I purchased this one for him because it looked the most similar, and it really does look great and holds up well. It's not a Melin, but it's a great knock-off with a similar look and feel.

It's super rare that I even write a review, but I had to on this one. This hat is nearly perfect materials and style wise, but totally misses the mark because of its height in the front. I have a big head and wow, it's super big. Chok-lids... use a little less material and bring the top down for a V2 and you've got a winner.

The depth of the hat fits well, but my main issue is that it doesn’t stay in place. It rides up and needs constant adjustment. The color is nowhere near what I would have expected from charcoal. It’s grey, with a very slight green hue. I would have returned it for this reason alone but needed a hat and didn’t have the option to. It is not a Melin replacement as some state. The constant adjustments needed are the main reason, it is also considerably more light weight feeling than the Melin, though in hotter weather that could be a good thing. Not a fan of the adjustable band on the back, would prefer the standard snap back rather than the buckle this one has.

I had no problem adjusting the buckle so the hat fit me perfectly. It's a good-looking hat, constructed of nice quality materials, and is stitched together well. It claims to be waterproof, although I haven't worn it in the rain yet, but with the "cooling" holes in the back half of the hat waterproof doesn't mean it will keep your hair from getting wet in the rain, which seems like an odd choice to me for a waterproof hat, but perhaps I'm missing the point somehow. It is comfortable to wear.Several labels in the listing and in the hat itself are very prominent that say "Designed in USA" (without the definite article "the" which any person who is actually from the USA as a native American English speaker would include in that phrase), which leads me to wonder if it was designed by non-native American English speaking ex-pats in the USA, but not actually by an American company or by Americans. And the tag in the hat says "ChokoLids USA / France / Japan / UK / Italy / Germany" (not sure what those mean - countries they sell it in maybe?) Hower, on the material care tag is says "Made in China," so, yes, it's made in China, which is what they mean by "imported" in the listing.It's pretty clear they are trying to hide the true origins of this hat. It's a fine hat. Just say it's from China and be done with it. Then people know and can decide if they want to purchase it or not. Trying to deceive customers about the origins of the hat in order to make a sale is not going to make for happy customers if they wanted an American-made hat and got a Chinese-made hat. Again, I stress, there is nothing wrong with this hat, but the attempt to obscure the country of origin seems sketchy.
