One of Britain s hardest working bands, Dunfermline s Nazareth are road warriors par excellence. For almost 40 years they have performed in front of fervent audiences across the globe and, showing no signs of slowing down, they are currently in the midst of yet another mammoth European tour. Their music is bluesy, frequently heavy, but characterised by strong, hummable hooks, with honourable mention for Dan McCafferty s near-superhuman vocals, which are still one of the wonders of the rock world. Over more than 20 studio albums, the group have proved time and time again that they have a real talent for composing catchy, hard-hitting originals as well as a remarkable facility with other people s songs. The many hit singles - both rockers and ballads, such as Broken Down Angel, This Flight Tonight, Love Hurts, Bad, Bad Boy, My White Bicycle, Hair of the Dog and Dream On found on this album are ample evidence of both facts. Originally released in 1975, the original 12-track Greatest Hits was a success in numerous territories. This updated version includes a further eight Naz classics, from the sought-after single version of Morning Dew (1971) to the huge 1982 power ballad Dream On - all loud, proud and remastered of course. Great Stuff!!!!!!!!!
This is a much improved sound over a previously purchased Nazareth Hits CD. That was, sadly, typical CD quality - Tinny, with little bass to speak of and not much to be had in the mid-range! This was much more like it, not perfect, but very much more reminiscent of my vinyl albums, back in the 70's - A room-filling sound that befits a band like Nazareth! - Can't beat Broken Down Angel and This Flight Tonight at full tilt!!

A Great Collection
All the well known hits here and a few lesser known and in my oppinion not nearly as good ones included. Well worth having all the same.

Full of Classics
Some real classics here. Had forgotten how many really good tracks this group made. I had originally liked their early sets but found them to get too poppy but then really liking Broken Down Angel but in retrospect enjoy lots of this. Some is a bit fill in rather than classic but overall very listenable.

My mum likes this band and thought this was her favourite album, so she was pleased to get this album at such a cheap price and the delivery came very fast, thansk very much!

Wow ! How can you make a single C.D. of Greatest hits for a band that has been around for 4 decades & put out 21 studio album's? The plain & simple fact is you just can't, but they did a very good job with this collection! There are very few Greatest hits that capture all of a prolific bands best song's because taste vary from listener to listener. This single C.D. comes as close as your gonna get for a band that has so many great song's. Nazareth is a Rock & Roll lovers band & this C.D. is a great introduction to one of Scotland's hardest rockers....EVER!!!! As far as their music standing the test of time my 18 year old daughter is looking forward to putting their music on a I Pod. As I was listening to this C.D. she was saying " Oh I know that one." to just about every song on the disc! Like I said you can't fit all of Nazareth's best song's on one C.D. so as a companion to this I picked up Nazareth's Anthology which is a 2 disc set & yes there are songs that are duplicated owning this Greatest Hits & the Anthology but you get a better song selection cheaper this way than picking up their 2 disc Singles collection! At least at the time I made my purchase this was the case. I would consider myself more than a casual Nazareth fan but less than an avid fan so the Nazareth Anthology had the songs I wanted that didn't make it to this disc. If I were a hard core fan I would be shooting for all 21 album's, but as it goes' for me This Greatest hits along with the Anthology satisfies my Nazareth needs.

If you like your music loud and raunchy with a pronounced 1970's flavour, this album is for you! Technically the CD is audible and clear. NAZARETH is a first rate group performing powerful song on this CD.
