How noisy is the humidifier when it is working? I am a light sleeper and need to be in a very quiet environment to fall asleep.

No worries at all. I am also a light sleeper, and this humidifier has never disturbed my sleep. It is much quieter than I expected, especially in sleep mode. In fact, I sleep much better with it on at night since it does a good job in relieving my itchy skin which caused by dryness.

Can you change the direction of mist output?

Hi, Yes you can. There is a straight wide piece that goes across 75% of its total length on the top of the humidifier that can be moved around in order to change the directional output. Hope this helps. Shalom… :O)

I've cleaned my humidifier 4 times since I opened the box 2 weeks ago. It continues to smell like mildew. Anyone else have this issue?

Did you add baking soda to the water when you clean it Soak for 1/2 hour. Then clean and rinse well. Hope this works for you.
