Best Little Tesla Coil!
This coil is very impressive. I decided to go with Joytech after reading many good reviews. I also chose this plug and play version rather than a DIY just because I didn’t have time to tinker with a kit. It came well packaged and in perfect order. It’s well constructed and looks great with the acrylic and blue combination. Works as stated, and a definite conversation piece. I used a splitter to add a little low end to the music as this coil acts like a treble speaker. Still w/o an added speaker it’s amazing to hear the music in waves. I used an old nano iPod for source. (*Note the video is without an extra speaker, just the sound from the coil) Best not to put any sensitive electronics in close proximity. While it didn’t damage anything, my T-Touch Tissot watch went wonky but all I had to do was reset it. Now I’m keeping that watch away from the coil while in use. It’ll also light up a variety of light bulbs from the utility drawer. If you’re looking for a prebuilt demonstration coil suitable for young adults as well as us old adults, you can’t go wrong. Definitely recommend!

A++ Recommendation- A beautiful Musical Tesla Coil that works beautifully. Takes <1min to assemble
A++ Recommendation - A beautiful music Tesla coil & eye-catching item that works well out of the box and that it takes less than a minute to assemble. Major attention getter. Well designed and attractive with high quality electronics and very well priced. THANK YOU JOYTECH for building this product. It is a great item to show physics students about Tesla coil designs and concepts as well as getting kids excited about science. Considering the size, the sound is very good (for a musical Tesla coil) but don't expect a high volume. All in all, you will not be disappointed. Everybody who has seen it at my house has loved it. Have fun! A++ recommended.

It’s junk. Buyers remorse.
Quality is terrible. The sound is awful. It stopped working entirely after the third time turning it on. I hoped it was a plug issue. It wasn’t. I’ve used coils before with noble gas tubes to demonstrate electron excitation but this one was weak and after taking it apart at the base to diagnose the issue it was junk reused parts that were not assembled to last. I got what I paid for. Now I have e-junk and scraps.

Great gift!
Bought this for my husband. He loves showing it off. It should not be operated for more than 20-30 minutes at a time, because it does heat up. Some reviews downgrade the review because of this, however all Tesla coils will do this. I would like to see an operation manual provided to help educate those who don't understand precisely how delicate a Tesla coil can be. If a manual was provided, I would have given 5 stars instead of 4. Otherwise, great product and worth the price!

Good value and it really works!
I'm impressed! This little gem is well built and performs. Whoever designed the packing and packaging did an amazing job. It arrived undamaged and ready to go. I got the one with Bluetooth connection. It was brain-dead simple to setup and use. I look forward to using it in my physics classroom.

Cool but underwhelming.
I originally bought a different brand unit which broke but a replacement wasn’t in stock for 2 months. I thought this would be comparable and this one is actually slightly more expensive than the other brand. I got the Bluetooth enabled unit. The power level is so low, there’s no arc at all, just a kind of fuzz that emits from the needle. It barely lights the bulb it comes with using the needle top. The spinning toppers that it comes with look cool, but they don’t make up for the glaring issues with the product. This is *not* a plasma speaker/singing Tesla coil. There’s an actual speaker in the unit and the plasma barely moves in response to the sound. This is an expensive toy wrapped up to look like a decent Tesla coil. If you’re looking for a cool desk toy or unique gift for someone, this works. But a true geek would be disappointed in this unit.

Fun, small, desktop science-y toy.
I wanted a simple Tesla coil to show my AP Physics students when we talk about induction. This is relatively safe and shows the basics of high frequency high voltage. It's about the size of a soda can. It comes with a few discharge tips: a pointy stick like a small nail that screws onto the top (gets hot after 20-30 seconds so don't burn your fingers removing it), a thin wire attached to a small screw that screws onto the top and is loose at the top end so that the plasma can wiggle it around, and a spinner arm that balances on top. The sparks are about an inch long or less and nearly steady - not long bright white sparks like on big Tesla coils, but small purple plasma sparks. Music played via a laptop or phone headphone jack can be heard clearly if the volume is turned way up. A florescent tube lights up in your hand from about a foot away. It came as two main parts: the secondary simply screws onto the base. The base has the primary coil (about 4 turns), the driver circuitry, and a cooling fan. The acrylic parts give it a clean look and allow you to glance at the electrical components.

Worked... maybe too well
This product is cool but messed with our whole house. It made my appliances go haywire even if we used it in the other side of the house. It also made everyone in my house feel weird and taste metal in our mouths.
