As I only tend to drink coffee on the weekends, a bag of coffee beans can last me many weeks and so I was looking for an ideal storage solution to preserve the beans the longest, yet keep them usable instantly, whenever needed.This tin keeps them hygienically clean and perfectly stored at room temperature, in the dark and in a low oxygen environment - perfect!The vacuum system is easy to use and only requires about 6 pumps (varies slightly depending on ratio of air:coffee in canister). I followed the instructions carefully about washing and making sure it started off with a perfectly clean sealing ring and valve - this may be the key to ensuring that you continue to have a good seal as I have not had any problems whatsoever as yet. I do make sure I keep the lid clean and away from dirty worktops and loose coffee grinds though.The date indication system is a novelty to remind yourself when you last added the beans fresh, but you can rest assured that when you come to use the beans, they will have been kept fresh by the vacuum anyway.The size is generous and can easily store a bag of 250g beans - being about half full and you'd probably be able to store two bags in the canister (though a bit of air space at the top is recommended, to pull a good vacuum).When it comes to using the beans, it's a simple case of pulling on the valve to equalise the air (in seconds) and you are greeted with a lovely aroma of fresh smelling beans every time.

Works fine now I realised that the silly little date disc around the indicator bubble was causing the indicator to stick and confuse me in to leaving it without a proper vacuum. It took a good few days of finding the vacuum gone to work out why.And it's a very big container, coffee beans (in the UK) tend to come in a pack size that would only half-fill this. I'd really like something smaller.

Before buying I had (like many others) read many reviews of this product both good and bad and decided that I should give the upgraded model a chance to prove itself and therefore form my own opinion. I have not been disappointed. The product arrived earlier than expected and apart from some very minor scratches (it does not seem to matter how careful one is, stainless steel always seems to attract some blemish or other). To me the most important feature is that the product should perform well and this one certainly does. The seal is very strong (I tried lifting it by the lid when it was holding 500grams of coffee beans) and stays that way as the freshness of my coffee beans would testify. Finally this product is very well made and I would have no hesitation in giving it a high recommendation. Also the customer service is second to none.

An excellent product that has a great feel of quality to it and can generate a great vacuum on it, better than any other container I've seen so far. It's great to have the leaflets in it for support should anything go wrong and gives a reassuring confidence if there is any issue their there to help and correct and issues. Highly recommended and I've not brought another one now since I have been after an a container like this for some time. Confidence that my fresh coffee beans are not going to degrade for my espressos!

Perfect when suction works. Useless and annoying when when suction doesn't work at all. It's a bit of hit and miss. It is more likely to work when the tin is full of coffee beans.

Seems to be working as it should, coffee keeps freshUpdate November 2020....... the vacuum pump has broken again around the top and no longer works as air can bypass the O-ring, going in the bin as the item is no longer available so it is not possible to get a replacement pump.Five stars downgraded to two!!!

Small product. This will store only about 400g of coffee beans. Vacuum works well though.
