Almost All the Attributes of a SUN Shielding Hat
Positives: Lightweight, huge shielding brim, seems very well constructed. The color is a pleasing neutral that probably will stay cleaner than a traditional white sun hat (although having a white option would have been nice, too).NEGATIVE: Hat is a little snug - would have preferred a bit more room so head could have more air circulation, thereby staying cooler. The BIG problem with this hat, is the fact it DOESN'T truly provide complete sun blocking. After unfolding & holding hat aloft, light from the ceiling lightbulb liberally shined thru the large swathe of porous netting found on both sides of the hat. As someone looking for complete sun shade, this is a huge FAIL & am quite disappointed. Been looking in my supplies to see if have anything that might work at covering the opening discretely from the inside -- at present, sadly, am contemplating returning the hat.Don't understand why the heck such a bad "breathing" fabric was chosen given defeats the essential purpose of wearing a SUN hat (for most people)... So very, very disappointed!Update: Kept the hat as a spare & wore on a cool, partly cloudy day. It offers great shade, but the hat continues to feel to snug -- the cord is virtually unnecessary because even with wind, this sucker is not coming off...For $15 it serves its purpose in limited sun conditions. This hat could be perfect -- if there was more room & the netting was remedied. PLEASE DO FIX!UPDATE #2 - Just purchased my 2nd hat. Having extremely difficult time finding hats with wide brims all the way around, so until find one without netting, this is the best I've found out there, especially at this price point. So, while my initial disappointment remains, adding a star.Update #3: I've bought & discarded at least 10 of these suckers -- and, here's why:This hat is not my dream hat, nor as qualitative as hats that could easily buy years ago. Even heavier, cotton duck mariner hats were functionally superior to what can find now. However, after trying & sending back numerous hats with shorter brim widths in the front (WHY, for heaven's sake?!), material that doesn't block sun at all, hats with excess fabric fabric suffocating neck flaps, and/or are sized for Mr. Potato Head, I have stuck with this hat, using it with a sun umbrella during stronger sun-months. If needed for being on a field, golf course, or outdoors on the water, I'd search further because the sun blockage simply isn't that protective. For a City dweller shunning the sun, with less sun exposure, they are sufficiently well-sewn, sturdy & can be folded away -- so moderately functional. I think of them as disposable, because once dirty, cleaning doesn't leave them ever looking the same.Until I can find a nice, 3.5"-4" wide brim (ALL sides) hat, in fabric that breathes a bit, is light-weight, has an adjustable chin strap, and can be cleaned, this hat suffices.A functional, practical, wearable hat doesn't seem that extraordinary an ask, but even at the $70+ price point, it's slim pickings. So, slather on the sun block, stay shaded as best possible, and settle on this model, until a decent manufacturer brings back real sun & rain hats. At least this hat doesn't empty the wallet, nor does it make a lot of false claims with phoney professional endoresements.Update #4 - So, been buying this hat now for 3 years and counting. The fit varies from purchase to purchase, altho I'm buying the same hat, in the same color & style. More recent hats seem looser in fit, and, now happear to have a new quirk - --the hat brim now obstructs my field of vision when worn in the car & trying to crane my head to check for other motorists, pedestrians, read a sign, etc. I don't know whether the looser fit contributes to this new issue, or there's some slight design change. The same impingement to my field of vision occurs when crossing the street, whether looking for the walk signal or checking for oncoming traffic. I've measured the brim and the width seems to be the same...Incredibly, this remains the best hat, at the lowest price point I've found --- after trying several sporting good /camping stores & their lackluster hat offerings, as well as other mail orderproducts, so, I am sticking with this brand, trying to focus on the positives--- and, be a heck of a lot more vigilant on the reduced field of vision issue . . . Good luck. All!

works well
It covers well and stay in place when wind is strong. Material is a little heavy, in hot summer it does feel slightly hot. Good hat overall I'm glad I purchased it.

Works well for me
It’s not the most attractive hat, but my goals were to 1) shade as much of me as possible at the pool and 2) keep the hat from flying off my head. Goals achieved.

Fits great. Has adjustable straps. Keeps sun off neck.
I really love this hat. Very durable material. Has air vents to help you stay cooler. It has an adjustable strap if you need to make the hat a bit smaller. The chin straps stay in place. I really like the look of the hat too. So many colors to choose from. The brim is large enough to protect your neck and face from the sun.

Excellent hat for sun protection
The brim is wide enough that I don't need to worry about my neck being unprotected, and it folds up nicely for storage. I've received compliments and inquiries about the hat! Great purchase!

Not Bad
It’s not the best quality hat, but it’s not bad either — it’s pretty light weight. I was hoping the brim was a bit wider — it’s definitely not ‘wide brim’…looks more standard. Having long hair, I do like the ponytail slot.

It was okay - look a little different than pictured
I first liked it a lot but then noticed the back doesn’t work or look like the picture but it did it’s part to protect my face from the sun.I used it for hiking 18 miles trail this past week and the hat kept pushing down in the front for the back was hitting my 25lbs back pack I carried up the mountain therefore it affects my visibility! This can be dangerous and bothersome so I had to keep adjusting and even removed it a handful of times. I didn’t have a back up hat during this camping trip.As we were going down the trail, it was hanging on my backpack and somehow along the way, I lost it along the trail down. Maybe it will bring more happiness to another fellow hiker. I was over it.This hat is great if you are gardening or going shorter hikes/walks without a camping back pack. This review is about my own experience. The quality is good for the price. With that said, it’s fair for me to give it a 4 star.

Excellent sun hat
This is one of the few hats with a wide enough brim to really shade your face properly.
