8 secrets valid and reliable, very valuable book to those seeking DAO
It’s a unique book for this subject, it’s a question of validity as per text. This is mostly an interpretation, but it is helpful and insightful. I do not necessarily agree with all interpretations as I have read many versions of the Dao de jing and cross referenced in Chinese. It is worth the time and money to read though.

If you're interested in the Tao Teh Ching this traslation is a must read!
Not only is this translation written by a native Chinese speaker but one that is also fluent in English. Luke Chan spent over ten years memorizing and meditating on the text before writing this book. Included are rare translated commentaries of the text versions preserved through He Shang Gong (about 2000 years old) and Wang Bi (Wei Dynasty 1800 hundred years ago). This is the only version that I know of that links the chapters into eight distinct parts creating a whole sound philosophy. Each of the 81 chapters contains the verbatim Chinese characters and English translation, the extensive commentaries also in both languages and a fantastic resource in the back of the book that explains each character and it's definition as it pertains to the text. Want to know the basis of Chinese culture? Want to read and understand the Tao Teh Ching as a whole practical philosophy that you can use in your positive daily life? Get this Book!

A welcome insight!
I've collected translations of TTC for years; each one adding a small degree of additional wisdom. But Master Luke's work provides something the many stilted English translations do not: Context!I'm reading and enjoying as I discover that TTC provides insights to my American life in this troubled decade...Many thanks to an accomplished teacher!
