Updated: The fountain was fixed after I contacted the seller. The seller was fast in responding and patient in helping. The fountain’s faliure (probably the noise too) was due the blockage of the pump. I leanrt that the pump can actually be opened and cleaned, and the seller have a specific video procedure for this. HOWEVER, I still need to give it a two star because the filter were still useless. My cat is an indoor cat; I also use filtered water for my cat; I now change the water and clean the fountain about every 3-4 days. But the filter still turned yellow and the water was turbid for the second round of usage. So the filter last at most a little over a week, which is still way below the 40 days they advertised. I posted along, the picture of the filter after 10 days of usage, and the turbid water vs the newly changed water.Original:The fountain just stopped working after close to three months of purchase. The light is still on, but the machine is no longer pumping water. Even before the fountain stopped working, it started making noises in about a month of usage. The filters are completely useless. It takes my cat about a week to drink up the water from the maximum filling point till the lights turn red. And every time I change and refill the water, the remaining water are already turbid (dirty and muddy). I even tried a week without using the filter, the water got to about the same level of turbidity. If the filters were of any use, its life span is no where close to the 40 days as advertised and not even a week. Otherwise I would say the filters are completely useless.

I ordered a fountain in October 2018. Then, a few months later the pump completely stopped working. After a painful customer service experience where I was continually told to clean the pump and sent a link to a video, I was finally sent a replacement unit in late January 2019. For the record, I cleaned the fountain at least once a week, including the pump.And here it is, July 2019 and the pump has stopped working again. That means two units have quit working well within the warranty period of the originally-purchased unit. Everything was running smoothly one day, and the next it wasn't. I saw a few comments about being unable to find out how to contact BLOOMSPECT. Luckily I still had the email conversation from the last time I needed a replacement. I've asked for a refund. Will update on how the refund goes.As far as the unit itself (while it worked), I was mostly pleased. It was a little difficult to clean because you could not take the pump out of the unit and there are a few nooks and crannies to scrub around. If you order one you should definitely find a brush to fit into the pump and other small components. It was quiet and out of the way. The filters do not last several weeks like I remember reading when I first bought the fountain, so order several when they are in stock on Amazon.Update - I never did receive a refund.

I've tried a few water fountains and I've found this one to be the least complicated and easiest to clean. Like any fountain though, you have to clean it. I'm sure the filter helps but if you don't clean it at least once every 2 weeks it gets really slimy. You also have to replace the filters on a fairly regular basis so it's a recurring expense. But the benefits are that I can go away for a weekend and not have to worry about my cat dying of thirst. She has a little hesitant about it at first but she quickly adapted and now loves it. It's also quiet, which is another bonus. Some pumps can be really loud.

Easily unpacked and set up. Our dog is now drinking from it (took almost a week). The cat still just sits by it(I have a bowl set out next to it for water). VERY quiet. Love that is holds a lot of water at a time so you aren't adding constantly.Update:Purchased it May 18, 2018 and this past weekend (7-15)it started not working. The green light is on at the button but not around the top like usual. the water is not pumping up thru the hole. My pets can't drink water from it. I have faithfully cleaned the whole thing, changed the filter every 2 weeks and cleaned the pump (even took it apart and cleaned it weekly). I did contact the seller and they asked if I cleaned the pump but after a weekend of no water (and having to set out a bowl so they could drink) I ordered another brand and will see if it works longer. I loved this when it worked. Too bad it didn't last very long.

My cats haven’t really taken to it like they did with others. The area where they drink from is smaller than I thought it would be. It is very quiet though which is great. Don’t know if I’ll keep it or give it away.Update: cats liking it, however, it keeps shutting off. Not too bad if I’m home and up, but worry about when I have to be gone or have gone to bed. I have to leave out another bowl of water to be safe. I may just buy another fountain, but a different brand, because my cats do like the running water.

I purchased this product on May 13, 2018. I found it very convenient to be able lifting out the water barrel. However, after 4 months of intense use (2 German Shepherds, and 3 cats) the water filter started to disfunction. No water came out.I contacted the manufacturer and received detailed instructions with photos and videos on how to improve the maintenance part of the motor (not fun!) The problem was not the maintenance, but a tiny little spot of erosion that I noticed at the back of the water barrel (vertical copper plates). Despite the helpful tips from the manufacturer we had to conclude that it was over.Within a couple of days, I received a brand new water filter - it is a great system just ensure (subsequently) that the outer part is dry prior placing it back in the holder.

I live in a small one bedrm loft with 19' ceilings. All noise is echoed in this space to a great degree. The fountain I had for my cats before was not loud, but in my space was not soothing. This fountain is "sound free". The cats are happy enough with it. I am only concerned that the water is not being filtered as it was in my other fountain with a charcoal filter

I gave this product 5 stars because I think the design sets it apart from all other drinking fountains. I was previously using 2 Drinkwell 360 drinking fountains. After about a year, I noticed that the seal where the electrical cord connected to the pump was no longer intact and the wires were exposed. This scared me because it seemed like an electrical shock just waiting to happen. I packed up the Drinkwell 360's and I've been on the lookout for a fountain with a better design. I think drinking fountains are a must but I couldn't get over the fear of my pets drinking from the same area where the electrical pump was.When I saw this fountain, I was really impressed. The water is pumped up from the basin to a higher level where it runs over a shallow surface that the pets drink from (a little like the Catit). The fact that pets can not drink from the basin where the pump sits is what attracted me. If you have a dog that drinks too fast, this is great because it slows them down and stops them from choking or ingesting too much air with the water. However, If the power ever goes out, only a little bit of water will remain on the surface so this could be a problem.The water running over the drinking surface flows back into the basin as more water is pumped up. The flow of water also prevents hair, etc collecting on what is otherwise a large drinking surface area. The water is filtered on the way back to the basin although I don't know how much of the water goes through the filter on the way down because of its placement. I don't see this as a huge problem since the filter probably operates on a high flow/low filtration rate- for the amount of water that is pumped continuously, the amount that needs to be filtered every second is small.The basin can be removed from the base so you can leave the base plugged in and just remove the inner basin to refill or clean it. There are 2 modes: continuous operation and intermittent where the pump alternates on and off every 2 minutes. It could be useful but I wouldn't recommend it for multi-pet households or for single pets that drink a lot because the amount of water that's available when the pump is off can get quickly lapped up. The light indicator creates a really nice accent around the fountain. This was a nice surprise. I don't need to put a nightlight by the fountain and it looks really great.I can't comment on the longevity of the fountain, or how hard it is to clean (looks to be average) or how slimy/dirty it can get.In summary,Pros:- safe, superior and convenient design- high quality product- the indicator light creates a nice accent at night- drinking surface stops pets from drinking too fastCons:- the filter doesn't seem to hold a lot of carbon or resin (needs to be changed more frequently?)- if the power goes out for an extended time, pets might run out of water- the drinking surface is plastic (be careful not to scratch or would be nice if it had antimicrobial properties)

I've had this for almost 2 years and it still runs great. I would've given it 5 stars; however, getting replacement filters is close to impossible. They say they are rinse-able, but they get quite dirty overtime and need to be replaced.My cat is older and has gum problems. He often ends up dropping food into his water. No matter how much I clean it the filter eventually starts to smell.The filters have not been available for purchase in months.

Great product, my cat drinks more water with this! The placement of the light indicator is a bit odd, but still east to identify. It's extremely quiet at times, no pump noise, only just sound of the water flowing which is pretty relaxing.

I used it for a drinking fountain for my dog. Would buy again. It has lasted a long time and still going.

It is so damn good. First of all, I’ve been trying to find a truly scilent water fountain for my cat because I sleep really lightly, and this one makes absuloutly no noise. Seceonly, the look and design of this thing is just clean and beautiful also has a really strong pump that puts out a lot water.
