Can be used to make a WAP in Linux (Debian at least haven't tried others)
This was the only WiFi adapter that worked for making a Wireless Access Point (Hot Spot) on Linux. Took some Chatgpt'ing to get the config right but now it's my go to WAP for 2.5G and 5.0G WiFi.

Better than I expected, justifies the price for sure.
Works flawlessly with Linux kubuntu 25.04. Connection seems really stable, and it reaches a bit further than my laptop wifi card does (about 35-45 feet away from my router through an exterior wall) at a faster speed than I expected. Easy to stick together, and it's simple plug-n-play. I would like it to have a more stable base, and for it to come with a little carrying case (i understand why it doesn't).

This does NOT work plug and play with 18.04 Ubuntu
BEWARE! This no longer uses MT7612U chipset!! It uses a Realtek chipset for which drivers are not included in most modern linux kernels! Why? Look it up for yourself on google. Mostly, really bad drivers. Do not buy this for Linux even though 2 hours worth of research said it was good for linux....because it now uses Realtek chipset instead of MT7612U chiposet.

Look no further
Hands down the best adapter out there in this price range, it is highly sensitive for monitor mode. Best part is its plug and play within Kali. With my tp link adapter it took absolute ages to get it to run properly.. David bombal sent me and i will never buy any other adapter company. Alfa youve got a customer for life

It works
It is not easy to install, but works. After installing the drivers, try the following commads sudo airmon-ng check kill sudo airmon-ng start wlan1 sudo ip link set wlan1 down sudo ip link set wlan1 name wlan1mon

Will not work with monitor mode
It functions decently as a standard wifi adapter. When combined with WireShark, or any sort of packet sniffing program on Windows 8, Windows Server 2016, or Windows 10 (tested this adapter on all 3), it will not go into monitor mode. nPcap was downloaded on all systems. Do not purchase this adapter if you intend on going into monitor mode on a Windows device.
