– BACKBONE One PlayStation Edition

I was sceptical about purchasing this, but the 2nd gen version is just awesome. It fits my S23 Ultra perfectly fine without a case and it is incredibly easy to install. Okay, so not all games are supported but this is not Backbone's fault and you can custom the controls for some apps as well (redream, dolphin). For the games that allow controller support, it works great. I am having a blast playing Stardew Valley with it on Google Play and the Xbox cloud feature is a game changer. I just wish I had purchased one sooner. Don't expect all games to work with this, but you can play most games via Steam Link, Playstation Link, Xbox cloud Gaming, Xbox link and Play Store games. I am sure that over time, more games will be added. 100% recommend.

My partner bought me this because I've been suffering with a herniated disc with nerve compression and so couldn't enjoy sitting in my PC chair to game at present. Using this little bit of kit I've been able to not only play on my PS5 while laid comfortably but also my Xbox and Steam games as well as some Google Play Store games. The buttons feel great to use albeit took a little getting used to if you're more accustomed to a PS5 controller. It easily fits my Samsung S23 Ultra although I do have to remove my case as mine is designed to combat my clumsiness and is therefore rather chunky. The app itself is a great addition to making things easier to switch between sources of games and took no time at all to set up. Due to my back issues I've not as yet been able to test this on the go but if you are like me and have a medical issue that affects your hobby this is a fantastic middle ground to help you out.

If you are a mobile gamer but cant afford the alternative official mobile game pads, then this is a very good option. I have large hands but this fits well and ergonomically well designed. The sticks and buttons all well positioned so I do not find myself pressing more than one button even on this smaller device. Obviously the performance of your games is down to the connection, phone quality and battery life, but I have not had a problem playing any of my supported games due to the hardware. The only caution is their attempts to get you to subscribe to a gaming platform. If you have GamePass, PSN or Steam etc, you do NOT need to subscribe to be able to play these, so be carful not to subscribe unless you want to.

Works well on my android phone for playing call of duty etc. Tried other brands but wasnt impressed so decided to spend a little extra. Great functionality just like the xbox/ps controller and easy to set up

I love this controller. It is the second one I’ve brought due to upgrading my phone it it having usb c. Love this controller. Well built and is plug and play. They do a subscription service for their app that unlocks some additional features. You do get 12 months free before you have to start paying but to be fair, I don’t use that and it’s not needed for you to use the controller. Overall a very good controller but appreciate it might be a bit pricey considering some other options out there.

I had the first edition of this and it worked flawlessly. The EU decided to force apple to have USB C connectors so I saw this as an opportunity to purchase the PlayStation version as I prefer the button layout. How wrong I have been. The device stopped working around a week ago due to a faulty ribbon connection. I should have just approached Amazon for a replacement but decided to approach backbone. Their customer support is absolutely shocking. They don’t care at all. They are the least helpful customer support on this planet. This review admittedly is more about their customer service than the device but I can’t comment on the device as it’s not been working. Apparently the ribbon fault is very, very common and the company are doing nothing about it.

Good product but I have bought this like three times after a couple of use it breaks down literally for no reason. I don’t over use it, I have dropped it some buttons don’t work after a few use very disappointing.

I've been playing with this since I got it earlier today (mostly No Man's Sky on PS5), and I'm so glad I got this. Turns my S23 into a gaming experience anywhere, as long as my PS5 is on. I found no lag or stuttering, which of course is dependent on your mobile device. (Loved that COD natively picked up the controller with no pairing issues as previous versions of the game have had.) Very good fit in my (fairly small) hands, even more comfortable than a regular PS5 controller. Some flex in the spine of the device, as would be expected from the design. I played for about 4 hours straight, with no cramping. I bought this on Black Friday, but even at full price it's a worthy investment if you play on the go.
