These things are SOOO handy...
In case it isn't clear, these cartridges are a one piece aluminum shell shaped like a cartridge (no, the bullet section itself doesn't come off) with a spring loaded primer. These things are like a swiss army knife for firearms, and they have so many uses. If anyone is on the fence as to what good these are, here are some of the things I use them for...1) Training with a new firearm. I close my eyes and randomly mix one of these snap caps into the ammunition I put into the firearm. In many cases (such as with guns that have a heavy recoil) I find that I am overcompensating for the recoil and I wind up shooting too low. These snap caps help correct the problem.2) Diagnosing cycling problems. This allows me to help diagnose the ability of a gun to feed and eject a cartridge reliably without having to worry about a live round going off. These snap caps helped me determine the feeding problem on my Cetme was a magazine problem, rather than a problem with the bolt or the loading ramp. Plus, because these are aluminum cartridges which are painted red you will easily see the where the wear and tear is that the firearm will be putting on your ammo.3) Testing the firing pin. These snap caps have a spring loaded plastic primer that absorbs the firing pin, and the impact from the firing pin will remain on the face of the primer. Just the thing if you want to see how hard your firing pin with be impacting the primer, without using live ammo. This is etremely important if you ever wind up buying a used firearm and you want to check if there are any surprises you want to avoid.4) Storage. Whenever I put a gun back into the safe I hate pulling the trigger on an empty chamber. For one, you always have a nagging doubt in the back of your mind whether it really is empty, and for another, doing that can damage the firing pins on older guns. Putting a snap cap into a firearm before putting it back in storage avoids both.Plus, these are much better quality than the older all plastic ones that had the transparent casing.

Great for practicing dry firing
These work great for practicing dry firing and not having to worry about damaging your firing pin. The dry firing really help with trigger control and learning your gun!

Works as intended, good for teaching safe load and unload practices.
I needed to teach my son and wife the safe way to load and unload the model 94, found that this product was the perfect solution. No confusion with live ammo, my Dad used empty cartridges with holes drilled into the body to teach me safe loading and unloading practices. I don’t like that old school style of dummy ammo because it closely resembles live rounds and it is too easy to confuse live rounds with dummy rounds. Yes, you should not have live rounds in the same area as the dummy rounds when learning how to load and unload the 94 or any lever action but you never know .... This dummy round makes it hard to confuse a live round for dummy snap cap type of round.

works as advertised
These work fine in my Marlin 336.The snap caps appear to be made of aluminum with some sort of enamel coating. The enamel coating does chip off rather easily and the rims are slightly gnarled after regular use. But despite these minor cosmetic blemishes, these snap caps work great.

Good practice tool
These work like they are supposed to. A-Zoom seems to be a trusted and respected brand. Purchasing snap caps seems like it should be a straight-forward purchase, but there are many out there that seem to fall apart rather rapidly. I've heard many ask "why bother?" with snap caps. These help protect your firearm, as the dummy percussion cap is spring-loaded. There are plastic or hard-rubber options, but those seem to start breaking apart after some use and can leave hazardous blockages in your chamber or barrel. I researched around before settling on this item, and have had no complaints thus far. They have held up well, fit the rifle as they should, and cycle easily through a lever-action chamber. Would recommend as an option to someone who practices dry-fire for trigger control and getting used to lever action.

Of course they work great. A+ product.
Works great of course. I put it in a nice Savage 219. These are hammerless like a shotgun. I didn't want to snap the trigger on it constantly when putting it away, since I don't want to risk damaging the riding pin. I also have them in all my shotguns as well. Fast shipping as well, of course.

nothing cycles through a firearm like the real thing
First of all, nothing cycles through a firearm like the real thing, so having a little trouble with snap caps is normal. I guess some people have better luck than others as with anything. Of all the snap caps I have tried this style is the best. Second, It holds up well, cycles good, doesn't hurt your firing pin, and from what I can see, it doesn't chip or flake off like older versions from what I read in the reviews. It's red color is really nice to look cool but also to not confuse with real rounds. Its a good buy.

Excellent for dry fire.
I always buy snap caps when we get a new gun in the house. They are awesome for practicing with while learning the firearms specific qualities. Load, unload, dry fire without damaging the firing pin. You always want to know each of your firearms quirks. Even if you own two 30-30s, it’s always good to test them out separately as there will be differences. Overconfidence can lead to unnecessary accidents.

Mostly metal
These are mostly metal except for the primer which is made out of rubberI prefer the Tipton snap caps that have a metal primer with a spring in themUnfortunately they do not carry 30-30 snap capsOnly time will tell if these will last

Great Quality
What can I say. A Zoom makes really good snap caps. Solid anodized aluminum and correct dimensions. They work perfectly. Way better than the others.

Wirkt wunderbar.
