Hands down the best box cutters I’ve ever owned!!!
I love these for my business. I even bought one to keep at home. The handle on them enable you to get a grip when you’re holding it and they can also be locked up by the bevel so the blade won’t shift. The blades from Olfa are very sharp and last a longggggg time!!!! Will never buy another brand.

This is not your typical box cutter…
Wow! I have seen a couple of people on youtube use a “box cutter” before, but sort of laughed. Who in their right mind would try to cut drywall with a dime store box cutter… First, this is a tool - not what I am used to seeing at all. I have a very dim view of box cutters after the blade snapped on one unused years ago and almost cut me badly enough for stitches. I relative died and I found the above typical box cutter in their shop. I kept it around, but didn’t use it. I decided to try the olfa knife primarily because I knew ai could return it. I never dreamed that it would become a permanent fixture in my pocket. This again is not a cheap piece of plastic, it has body and weight. The blades (besides looking really cool) are stout. Besides being wider, they are also more like what you would expect to have in a razor knife. I have waited until after i had given this knife a real work out to write my review. So far I have not broken a blade - even though a couple of times I had at least 4 section exposed. The knife is also somewhat ergonomic. Typically when I have worked with my hands all day, they begin to ache - when something doesn’t ache - it tells me it feels right. I could see this knife being used all day without a problem. I feel stupid because for two or three years, I have scoffed at people I have watched using these. Well, I plan to have more of an open mind when it comes to tools and techniques. The older I get, the more I appreciate good tools and despise cheap tools - this tool is not only a keeper, but I bought a second one to leave in my shop. I am sold!

Good quality
Nice utility knife. Blade that came with the knife was not as sharp as expected. Replacement blades lived up to expectations.

This is the prefect utility knife for my needs. I like this knife so much, I bought two! I often use the blade while extended, so I need a knife with the snap-off blades rather than the smaller double ended blades. I've used the auto-loading knives, those which hold a number of blades in the body of the knife so the blade can be changed quickly simply by ejecting the old blade and then loading a new blade by sliding the blade lock back to pick up a new one. These knives, while seemingly ingenious in design, and ubiquitous in their popularity, are troublesome, at least for me. I've owned three or four of these and every one has broken down in one way or another over a rather short period of time...and they aren't cheap. One commenter noted that the EHD Utility Knife requires too much time and effort to unlock the blade to extend and retract and while I'd agree it requires more time and effort, if one were to add up the time wasted getting those auto-loading knives to work properly, the time and effort saved with this knife would be easily apparent...there's almost nothing to go wrong. Specifics, to fill in where Amazon's terrible product descriptions fall short. This knife uses the 25mm snap-off blades. These blades are larger than the more popular 18mm blades. The knife action is simple. The knife holds ONE blade, the user turns the locking knob counter-clockwise in order to move the blade in or out, then turns the knob clockwise to lock the blade in position. To change the blade, simply loosen the locking knob as described and pull the knob and blade out the back of the knife handle. Insert a new blade, attach the locking knob assembly and continue using the knife.

This is my favorite utility knife. I love the weight and sturdiness of it. It is well built and comfortable to use. I won't keep anything else in my toolkit. I bought my first one years ago and used it very thoroughly. I even bought multiple packs of replacement blades and went through them. Sadly, it was stolen recently so I had to purchase another. If you are looking for a good quality utility knife, you don't need to look any further.

I use it all the time at work for cutting drywall and carpets etc. The 25mm blade is a lot sturdier and forgiving than the regular 18mm blades. I used ofther brand's offerings such as Stanley's and this one came on too by far, my only complaint is that you need to really tighten the screw if you're going to be cutting through touch things like drywall. Would reccoment do any professional that needs a good utility knife for heavy duty use.

This replaces my older different branded knife where the locking feature broke. This is just as good. I prefer the 25mm over the 18 as it can handle tougher jobs. 5 stars as it makes me feel tough as I cut through cardboard boxes to put them out for recycling. Paid regular price for item and recommend after initial use.
