Real nice capture card
Only had about an hour of play time with this capture card so far, but here are my initial thoughts. Card and software installed easily with no troubles. The included application was able to record video, take jpg snapshots and create motion gifs very intuitively. Recording video used about 45% CPU and the mouse pointer got kind of laggy, but the 10Mbps video looked awesome when I watched it again. The software has a streaming media server app built in, but that is only for sharing your recordings with other devices in your home, not for live streaming to a service like Youtube.Next I tried Open Broadcastier Software Studio (OBS) and had absolutely no problem adding this capture card to a scene and then live streamed the live feed to Youtube. The video quality was perfect looking 1080p when I played it back. I did not try audio as my source device was sending audio out another interface, so I can't give any opinion about streamed audio quality yet.I plan to use this capture card to live stream our church services to Youtube weekly. I will be plugging a video camera directly into the capture card so I should have audio and video when I try it for the first time this weekend. I'll update this review in a couple of weeks once I get a good feel for the live streaming experience.Only con so far, I fell for the 4K branding.... 4K only means "4K passthru", as this card can not capture video in 4K, but I am ok with that.

It Works!
We are using this box to live stream services at our church. We are just beginning this new ministry, and we were looking for something simple that would work without spending too much money. This has not disappointed. Connections were simple and worked immediately. Very pleased with the quality of the picture that is produced, and it works easily with OBS software.

Worked perfectly ... until it died.
NEW REVIEW:I had to modify my original review: This capture device worked great ..... until it died. I even ordered a new PCI Express USB 3.0 card so I could get thw newer USB drivers to make Windows 10 happy. Less than two weeks working and the capture device bit the dust. Looks like the seller may have given up on this one. I have a lot more video tapes to capture so I guess I'll try a different brand.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I purchased this device to digitize my old vhs tapes. I am using Windows 10. My vhs tape player is a Magnavox with an HDMI output I found on ebay. For this purpose it worked great for the first session. However, when I powered my computer on with this device still plugged into the USB 3 port the second time it was not recognized by the software they provided. I tried other software as well but it would no longer work with any of the software I was using. I was about ready to send it back when I looked at the device drivers in my Device Manager. My USB 3 drivers had the dreaded ! symbol beside it indicating it had crashed. I figured it was a Microsoft issue so I deleted it and scanned for new hardware. This fixed the problem.....Until I booted up my computer again with the capture device still plugged in to the USB 3 port. Same thing happened again. Where I have this capture device plugged in, it is not conducive to plug and unplug every time I power my computer on or off. This capture device works great - doesn't miss a lick with the quality of the captured video, but I have to remember to delete the USB driver each time I want to use this device after powering my computer on.

Perfect!
This is exactly what I needed! Needed it to connect Wii to laptop (windows 10) and it was so easy. For me, the setup also required Wii to HDMI converter and an external cd/dvd player which I already had (needed for mini installation CD for drivers). I was under the impression that the device would be recognized as soon as I plugged into computer but that was not the case and had to run the mini CD. Luckily I did not have a slot-based external CD driver, but the one with the tray that I could use. I am assuming the drivers are available online for download but I did not check because I didn't need to do that. Again, super simple and not bulky, very sleek design. Highly recommend.

and many people don't have a CD driver and trying to find the driver online isn't easy. I just looked for it online right now ...
I've used this a couple times with OBS to Live Stream to YouTube. I used a Sony AX-53 camcorder with it. I had no problems with this at all. But, I only used it for some short videos. I'm not sure how well this will do with long videos. I expect it will do well though. I can only fault this for a lack of decent instructions. but, it is not hard to figure out or anything. As someone else mentioned, the drivers come on a small CD, and many people don't have a CD driver and trying to find the driver online isn't easy. I just looked for it online right now and I couldn't find it myself. I happen to be using my desktop PC, so no problem for me.

Good product but gets extremely hot.
It has some issues like it gets really hot and sometimes you have to work really hard to get it to connect to your computer. We did have to get in contact with the company because it just would not work and they sent us an update that it needed very quickly so I was very thankful for that because it did help with the issues we were having.

Small In-line HDMI to USB capture
Small, neatly fits right in-line with its USB cable on one end and your HDMI cable on the other. The mini-CD driver installs fast and was immediately detected by both of my streaming apps: OBS and Wirecast studio. We went with an HDMI-USB capture solution for PowerPoint input for our on-line livestream presentations. The resolution is great at 1080p and response to transitions is instantaneous. Runs just a little warm to touch.

It's actually pretty alright for the price
It's actually pretty alright for the price. I use it to stream my switch to twitch. Something I noticed though, if I use obs to grab the video and audio, it creates an audio, or a video lag, so playing is a nightmare. I learned to just grab the video from the program it came with. It's a little easier and smoother that way. Frequent updates, so hopefully soon that small issue with obs will be fixed.
