Changed their Formula causing sick dog and extensive vet bills
My dog is highly allergic to many ingredients in the majority of dog foods. After searching 1000s (NO EXAGGERATION) we found this brand and formulation she was able to tolerate. She had been on it for over a year and did quite well. She still required her daily Apoquel allergy prescribed medication but for the most part was not suffering as she had with the other dog food. My dog is allergic to Beef, Venison, Soy (any form), Flax (any form), Peas, (any form) and in any amounts. Even trace amounts cause her skin to breakout, fur to fall out, extensive hives, diarrhea, vomiting internal hemorrhaging, etc. She is sensitive to pork and salmon but not to the point of becoming deathly ill. When we started our subscription to this product it did not contain these items so we just put it in the subscribe and save program trusting it would remain the same. Just last few months my dog became very ill experiencing all sorts of severe digestive issues, breakouts and required vet hospitalization. After she was stabilized and discharged with a large vet bill we reexamined the ingredient list. The dog food now contains flax and peas. Needless to say we are back at the drawing board in trying to find a dog food we can give our fur baby. Just a complete disappointment that they messed with a good thing.

This Food Has Changed Since the Company Was Bought By Purina!
I have been feeding my two fur babies this food for several years and was initially thrilled at how much my dogs loved the taste and the improvements I saw in their skin and coats. Fast forward to the last bag I received, which we are halfway through. Both of my dogs have had diarrhea since we started this bag. I was at my wit's end so I started researching and found out that the company has been bought by Purina. I don't know what they did to the food but my dogs cannot handle the change. I'll be throwing out the remainder of this food and going with a different brand.

Finally! Adult Kibble My Dog Likes
I have a now 14 month old Scottish Terrier. He was fed puppy grain free kibble until just before a year old when my vet said switch him to adult food. He didn't like any of the adult grain free by that maker. I switched to a couple of different exotic protein grain free and he did not like them either. I then read an article that grain free "may" be causing heart issues with dogs. I decided to switch to a food that had no corn or soy or wheat. I know oats and the other ingredients are good for dogs. I found this and he likes it. I've found my keeper food.

Not worth the risk
I canceled my recurring subscription to this dog food because over the course of 6 months, their food arrived in 3 different sizes. So, their quality control leaves a lot to be desired. I have pics of 2 sizes. I can't find my oic I took.of the 3rd size but it was the size of a nickle. On top of that, I needed a bag in between my subscription dates so I went to Petco to buy a bag. I bought one and when I got home the bag was a few months past its best buy date. It's up to the sales rep for the company to maintain that. So, no quality control and just seems like things are sloppy with the company. Not worth the risk. Went to Pro Plan puppy instead. Been serving my Boxers Pro Plan for a long, long time. Never has it been a different size or past it's best buy date.

Mispackaged bag made my dog throw up and now I have nothing to feed him with.
My dog has been on this for almost two years and has loved it. I just opened a new package for him and the kibbles were smaller than usual. I thought it may have just been a new batch of the food. It looks just like the puppy recipe that we had him on when he was younger but the bag says “Adult Recipe.” I gave him his first meal of it and he ate it very slow. He threw up later and now he will not even eat a piece of it. I believe it is the puppy food mispackaged as the adult food because he has never had an issue with it and the kibbles are half the size.

Choose Blue Diamond Freedom Instead....
Do not buy.... atleast not from Amazon. This dog food has caused my pit bull to suffer with bloody diarrhea and I’m extremely upset!!! My boy has never had any issues with any dog food and has a history of having a tough stomach; eating any and everything with no problem before this brand. Never should have given this brand a chance.

Concerned and will be researching possible options
I have been purchasing this product for a few years. I was using The Science Diet (?), then Nutro small breed (small kibble) but my dog would throw it up and have digestive issues sometimes and then more often. Maybe she got bored of it too. I did some research and this Merrick brand had really good ratings at the time for premium dog food at a reasonable price. The kibble size is is small and fine with me. When I got another small dog, I started getting this flavor. My older dog seemed to do better and my other dog is fine with it. I started getting it delivered last year because Petco had difficulty keeping it stocked. I have noticed the freshness seemed to vary occasionally. From time to time tho and over the last year, I guess my older 13 yr. old dog has had occasionally has issues like diarrhea, vomiting, soft-serve or runny stool and has lost interest in the food (although I kind of spoil her). My other dog (4waymutt) rarely has food issues and he seems to be okay with it. Now that I read more recent reviews, I’m concerned about the quality and formula after discovering that Purina has acquired Merrick. I’ll be searching for another alternative and try, maybe senior formula.

Top Quality and baked in the USA
Had my dog on Racg Rays and he started to not eat a lot and no interest a lot of times. He would sniff it and walk away.......something bothered him about the food. This went on for a while and a couple of different "flavors and lines that they offer" he turned away from all of her line. Tried this one after reading up on the brand......HE REALLY LIKES IT AND ACTUALLY GETS EXCITED ABOUT IT LIKE HE USED TO. Well......guess we are sold on it and his coat and overall appearance has improved quite are noticeable. He loves all the different flavors as well. He's a happy dog again and so am I.
