The cookbook of the year! MUST HAVE.
I am not new to Meera’s work (big fan!), but this cookbook hits differently! There’s something extra special about it.Maybe it’s the fact that most recipes can become stable in your day to day, being easy and simple recipes. Many of them can be cooked with staple ingredients. This book’s intention doesn’t seem to be innovation, but rather educate and provide nourishment. This past week, I’ve cooked 4 of the recipes and they took less than 30min each, but all of them tasted like a meal I’d happily pay for.If you’re passionate about food and is looking for a cookbook that is actually useful, think no further! This is THE ONE. Meera’s best cookbook and your new companion. Thank you Meera!!!

A great collection of recipes
I've been poring over this since it arrived, adding almost all the recipes to my 'must try' list. There are a few in here that I've cooked from seeing them in the author's newspaper column, so my review is based on those, and how tempting everything else is. And if you are familiar with Meera's column, rest assured there are plenty of completely new recipes.I'm vegan - there's one briefish chapter that focuses on eggs and cheese, but the rest of the book seems to be pretty much entirely vegan or easily veganisable with one simple swap (like tofu for paneer). There are a lot of east and south Asian flavours here, and much more besides. From the handful of recipes I have previously made, standouts are koshari (sounds so simple but is incredibly flavourful), vodka gochujang pasta, and green tea rice with sake vegetables. There are too many to list that I can't wait to try, but ones like miso aubergines with salt and vinegar cavolo nero, Dinner at Shuko's, and the parsnip and potato gnocchi with gochujang and hazelnuts are near the top.The author includes loads of other useful info, such as kitchen knife recommendations, where to source any less common ingredients from, and some specific brand recommendations for them. And finally, Meera's recipes are some of the few that I've come across where the 'Serves 4' always does so, often generously.Update:I've made two things this week - the fennel and dill dal with Meera's Mum's chapatis, and crispy tofu nuggets with a spicy sauce. The dal was good, the chapatis were great, the nuggets and sauce were absolute all timers.

Spectacular!
This did not dissapoint! What a fabulous book - an extra special mix of all types of cuisine with a good mix of vegan and veggie and not too dependant on cheese and pasta. I am salivating looking at all the recipes - plenty of simple recipes but also a few that stretch the cooking skills and ingrediants. I am looking forward to sitting down with a cuppa and planning the next delicious meal. Superb!

I have never been disappointed with a recipe from one of Meera Sodha books. By far my favourite cook book author!

Greatest ever vegan food writer?
What a time to be a vegan. The recipes are also simple to reproduce and deliver each time. Few odd ingredients which are simple to find online. Magic.

Love her other books, but
A little disappointed in this one as too many non-indian recipes 🤔
