Fun strategy game
Got this to play with my family as we love trying out new board games. This game consists of a playing board, 50 game cards, 20 ‘mucky spots’ and 5 boots(one for each player up to 5).This one is relatively easy to learn and play and the general idea of winning is to be the last leg standing. You place 16 mucky spots down on the game board, all touching each other and then each player chooses where to start and puts their boot down. Each player is then given 2 cards to start with and the game commences. On each players turn they must draw a card from the deck and they can then play up to 2 game cards - if they want to - to change the gameplay. For example, I might want to play a card to perform a ‘giant jump’ to jump to any mucky spot on the board, even if it isn’t connected to the rest. The ending of the turn involves the players boot moving to an unoccupied spot and the previous spot being removed from the board. The cards add to the strategic element of trying to trick the others players into slipping up so that they get stuck and end up not being able to move and, therefore, being eliminated. Some of the cards actually remind me of Exploding Kittens in their actions! It’s a fun game to play and each game takes only around 10 mins or so, so you’re not going to get bored with a long, drawn out game. The game cards spice things up somewhat and you’ll soon be shouting “just one more game!”😂The mucky spots and boots and cards are all well presented, as is the playing board and the box it all comes in.Overall, I’m really happy with this game. It’s easy to learn, good fun to play and easy to keep coming back too.

Surprisingly good fun
We love a good board game in our house and this one has proved surprisingly popular, especially when playing with my 8 and 14 year old daughters. The gameplay is very simple to learn and the game features a board, mud tiles, 5 boot pieces and game cards that serve to alter gameplay to both aid players and hinder opposing players.Tiles are placed face down on the board - the other side features a 'critter' and once turned, can't be used as a landing place (unless turned again).Players take turns to draw a card, play a card and move onto an unoccupied space (that must be touching the one they're currently standing on) - once moved, the tile that they were previously standing on has to be removed, with the idea being to become the last boot standing. If players have nowhere left to go, then they're out, unless they have a card (or two) that can help them. It's a fun, strategic game that gets youngsters thinking ahead. Sadly, some players can be knocked out relatively soon after gameplay, but each game only takes around 10 mins so it's easy to set up another game or two afterwards. We have many board games, but nothing quite like this one and as a family board game, my family find it a lot of fun. It's very entertaining and great for up to 5 players (the more the better). If you're looking for a board game that's a little bit different, I recommend this one :)

Fun game for a wide range of ages.
This game is quite addictive, and you certainly find out who your friends are! I played this with my family over Xmas, age range 10-60, and we had great fun. You can set the hexagonal tiles out on the board pretty any way you like, as long as they are all touching. When you take your turn, you move off your tile, and that one is taken away, once you get to a turn where you can't move, you lose, and you and your tile are taken off the board. You start off trying to move , but end up trying to knock the rest of the players out of the game, and it gets quite competitive. You draw a card each turn, and some of these enable you to remove an unoccupied tile, so you soon revert to removing the one tile a player needs for their next turn, effectively removing them from the game. Expect old grudges to come out! Great fun

Easy to pick up, quick to play, a perfect family game
This cute game, for between 2 and 5 players, is ideal for families. Suitable for age 6+ it's essentially a strategy game where you aim to be the last boot standing.Yes, each player is a boot (colour coded so you can tell them apart) who has to negotiate it's way across the mucky patches. Each player has up to 3 cards to play, which give a variety of instructions/choices.As the game progresses the mucky patches are removed from the game board and to win you need to be the boot on the last mucky patch.Gameplay is quick and easy to pick up. The pieces are fun and quirky. The instructions are well laid out, clear and include an example of play. All in all it's a cracking game which all the family can enjoy!

Fine for younger players.
This isn't an expensive game and it doesn't require too much learning to get going. The Critters don't play much part in the game though, as the action takes place above a swamp on the "Mucky Spots", which are places dry enough for the Boots to walk on and occupy. There are only five Boot pieces, restricting the number of players to that number. Players take turns moving their pieces around the swamp from Mucky Spot to Mucky Spot, with the Spots disappearing once they've moved on.The strategy is to keep going until you're the last player standing, with all your opponents sunk into the mud. Cards are taken each turn which bestow a variety of abilities on the players, allowing them to move or to delay an opponent. There's a limit on the cards held so players are forced to use abilities they're not ready to use, if they keep too many cards. The game is simple in concept and won't keep adults engaged for long. But it's a good game for players from age 6 years to about 15 I'd say.
