Quality unit
I use this on top of a Marantz SR8015 and it fits really well. Perhaps AC had done their homework and realised Marantz AV runs quite warm! Works really well and gets the temp down. Ok so the minor negatives. Ships with a US power adapter so had to source a quality CE approved UK one. Not a major issue. One the does matter is that it can be noisy if the fans need to run at the higher rate. If your AV is in a cupboard / enclosure it should not be a problem. A power button separate from the main controls would be handy. Despite above well made and works well.

Excellent product - does exactly what it is supposed to but not always 'quiet'
I am using two of these - a T8 cooling a Denon AVR and a T10 (the same product but with a front exhaust cooling a Marantz AVR. I'll touch on the one negative point first - noise. When I applied power for the first time, the fan came on at the default level (4) and it is loud. I immediately thought I'd have to return it, but I'm glad I didn't. Reducing the fan level to 2 yields a volume that is virtually inaudible if the unit is housed in a closed-front cabinet, but still quite noticeable in an open-front one. Reducing to level 1 renders it inaudible even in an open-front cabinet unless I am only a few feet away. I run both units in Smart mode with the fan limited to level 1 and a target temperature of 25C. With the fan so low, it can't actually hit this target, but it does keep it at a constant 29C when it is running, which is perfectly acceptable for my use. Putting the fan level up allows it to achieve the 25C target easily, but this comes at the expense of noise. The modes are all useful and there is a lot of options to customise the cooling. I definitely think that the 'T' models are with the extra money over the 'S' ones which do the same job but with far less options. Being very noise sensitive, I would like a two-step option when the fan is limited to level 1 until the temperature reaches a certain level and then is allowed to kick up to level 2/3 to bring the temperature down more quickly when it gets really hot. There is an alarm mode where when the temperature gets really high, the fans automatically move to full blast. This is useful to save the AVR from overheating, but the noise level from the fan would be so high that I wouldn't be able to watch a film anyway, so it would be easier to turn the system off to cool it down! It's quite a sleek looking unit as well, certainly much nicer than balancing bare fans on top of your AVR. It is a lot more expensive than doing that but for me definitely worth it.

Works as described and keeps my Sony DN-1080 cool
I bought this as my Sony DN1080 AV Receiver used to go into 'protection mode' when playing certain music types at high volume. For normal use, even with loud films, setting the device to Auto at the lowest speed is fine with a 4 degree buffer, you can hardly hear the fans and only really when they start up. For punchy music with lots of base (loud enough so you can't hear anyone speak) I only had to set it at the 2nd lowest speed and it kept the temperature below 84 degrees and no longer goes into 'protection mode'. Please note as the unit restricts the natural flow of air above the receiver you do need to remember to switch it on (if you switch it off each night as I do) otherwise the receiver will heat up (mine got to 101 degrees when I forgot) but there is an alarm that goes off to remind you if it gets too hot. Don't run it in 'smart mode' though as the fans stop and start constantly once it gets down to the set temperature and it can get annoying, the manufacturer really needs to change the programming to let the temperature rise a few degrees in this mode before switching the fans on again. Overall it does the job well but it's a bit expensive in the UK due to customs and delivery charges that are necessarily built into the base price.

Brilliant product. Solid design and cools down your amps
This is a fantastic product and really glad they were back in stock recently. I've got a new home cinema setup and the new power amp was getting seriously hot. As the cabinet unit was already fitted I had 2 options - take everything out and fit 3 AC fans or purchase this and place over the top to push out the air from behind. Very glad I purchased this model as it solves the heating issues. The unit is quite heavy so the build quality feels superior over other products I've seen and tested out there. Extremely easy to setup, one read through the instruction leaflet and job done. I tend to leave it on the lowest fan setting as there is no need to go any higher as the temperature rarely reaches 38C so no concerns. It does have auto and alarm feature but I don't feel that is necessary for my specific setup. On the lowest fan setting you can't hear anything with the cabinet door closed but once you start going past fan setting 3 it does get loud so for those which want a quiet home cinema I would recommend not turning it past fan setting 2. If you want to turn the LCD screen off press the bottom left button as it is quite bright and if you wish to power off it remembers the last setting when you turn back on. Love this product and would thoroughly recommend it.

Excellent AV Cooler
An Absolutely fantastic piece of kit brought this to cool my AV receiver which is in an enclosed space temperature was reaching 49 degrees Celsius. Trimmed the back of the cabinet to produce an escape for hot air and placed the unit on top of my AV unit all the hot air is now being dissipated to the rear temperature has now dropped to 22 degrees Celsius. Unit is fully customisable via the easy to read instructions 6 fan speeds which are all remarkably quiet even on the highest setting. Been using this for around 3 months you just set it and forget it, I cannot find a single thing to complain about this unit it does the job of cooling very well A definite must if you have AV or electronics in a confined space.
