Shelly Blu Door/Window Black | Bluetooth Operated Sensor | Home Automation | iOS Android App | Alexa & Google Home Compatibility | Lux and Tilt Angle Measurement | Set Custom Activation Scenes

I added this to a smart home setup and it has worked really well so far. It is a compact Bluetooth door and window sensor that detects when something opens or closes and can trigger notifications or automation scenes. Installation was simple. It mounts with adhesive and the sensor and magnet align easily on a door or window frame. Once installed it disappears pretty well visually because the device is small and lightweight. One thing I like about this sensor is that it does more than just detect open and close. It also measures tilt angle and light levels, which opens up some additional automation possibilities depending on how you are using it. Battery life is rated up to around five years using a coin cell battery, which is nice because it means you are not constantly swapping batteries like some sensors. Overall this is a solid little sensor if you are building out a smart home or security setup. It is easy to install, integrates with automation platforms, and gives you reliable notifications whenever a door or window is opened.

Using this little bluetooth contact sensor in the mechanical room of my basement, on the lid of my washing machine. It's part of an automation on Home Assistant that ends a "nag" if I haven't removed my wet laundry after a cycle. If the lid is open for greater than 20 seconds, the nag turns off. The lid closes, the nag is reset for the next load. This was very easy to install and it's quite small. In my case, it melds in quite well with my washing machine. Because I have bluetooth proxies everywhere, I have zero connection issues. It was definitely a good value for the money, and enables me to use a non-Zigbee device in a location that sometimes gets Zigbee-cranky.

These do not work. Having set up about 100 home automation devices, including by Shelly, these are painfully difficult to connect, do not work consistently, and do not wake up when they should. After hours of fiddling with them, they are going in the trash.

These work fantastically well as a trigger for doors and windows for automations in Home Assistant. They have tremendous range; one Shelley Gateway located in a central location of my house can detect/monitor these small sensors all over the 5,000 square foot dwelling. They also have an ambient photosensor to tell Home Assistant the light level of the room, as well as a built-in tilt sensor to detect how tilted the unit is. They are also very light weight and tiny, easy to hide, and come in three colors to help it blend in even more. I will dock a star, however, for how difficult they can be to open up, how in roughly half of these that I have bought their batteries arrived dead, and how when you first get them, they "kinda" work until you update their firmware, and the firmware update is quite flaky and requires frequent "wake up" sessions and force quits of the application to get them to work. I'd like to see Shelley expand this as an option to create a whole-home security system alternative to zWave/ZigBee devices by adding a true security hub, or at least a siren/audible alarm to indicate an intruder. Until that day, I can probably do alternative methods, but these sensors are absolutely great once you get a new battery into them.

These units from Shelly are small, discreet and come in a variety of colors. Installing them is really easy; simply peel the adhesive and stick. These also work well with doors that are'n't perfectly aligned (this can be a challenge with some magnetic switches). The sensors work quickly and you can automate scenes and alarms within the Shelly app. For the price, these units cannot be beat for home integration. I especially love how easy these are to integrate into my IOT setup with MQTT, which is a major bonus.

This has a great small form factor, it integrated seamlessly with the 2PM's I had and showed up in Home Assistant without issue. It responds quickly, and is much smaller and less obtrusive than the z-wave devices I have. But -- it came with a dead battery. Completely - showed 0.25v on a meter. Fortunately the batteries are fairly cheap and I had some, but really? Does this mean it was previously used? Even if old stock it's supposed to be a FIVE YEAR battery and these are fairly new. So now waiting to see if it runs dead quickly, or this was dead from the factory.

It works great but instructions really suck! I returned one thinking it wasn’t working but it was. Check on YouTube for the video on the Shelly guide. I can’t post the link on the review but it will takes 5 min to set it up. Hope that helps

Fantastic devices . i have no affiliation with Shelly whatsoever but spend my entire working life working with low power wireless devices including tech support with one brand and quite frankly i can not fault these or indeed any Shelly device . Believe me if i saw a negative point I would constructively and openly state it. I will be using this in some high automation projects and have absolute confidence. Dont forget you will need a Shelly device that has bluetooth and in range to act as a hub or as i see it a bluetooth to wifi bridge ,

Out of 6 door window sensors purchased, 5 failed with battery dead on arrival = 83% failure rate! 2 were black and 4 were brown. All brown failed and 1 black failed. All batteries were tested to have 0.1 volt, whereas a new battery reads 3.35 volt approximately. After testing each failing device with a good battery I was able to install the latest firmware. Shelly is clearly at fault here for not packing a thin sheet of material in the battery housing to prevent battery consumption while in storage and can be withdrawn by the purchaser. The bottom line is that a battery adds an extra cost of approximately 20% to the purchase price. I do not intend to buy any more of the brown sensors because there is obviously a poor quality control issue along with the higher price that is totally unjustified.

Funktioniert tadellos in Kombination mit einem Shelly Plus 1 Relais als Bluetooth Knoten. Ist klein und einfach an Fenster / Tür zu befestigen. Kleines Minus: Die eingelegte Batterie war total leer und mußte als erstes ersetzt werden. Blöde Idee von Shelly das Gerät mit eingesetzter Batterie auszuliefern. Das Ding liegt evtl. ein Jahr im Lager. Ist klar, daß die kleine Knopfzelle dann bei Auslieferung platt ist.

El producto funciona perfectamente, la respuesta es muy rápida. Hace falta tener un gateway bluetooth. Las pilas llegaron bajas de carga, no deberían venir conectadas, por el resto genial, Home Assistant lo detecta a la primera y es muy sencillo encriptar los datos. Lo más cómodo es instalar la aplicación Shelly Debug, con ella se puede cacharrear y configurar todos los dispositivos shelly desde el móvil, usando la conexión Bluetooth del mismo, permite actualizarlos, modificar valores, etc ....
