The unit is compact, built like a tank and is easy to install. Sound quality is good. I put it behind the rear seat in my F250 crew. I'm adding a star simply for that versatility. You can put it just about anywhere. It added a lot of warmth with good separation between tones and blends nicely with the stock system. It sounds great at lower volumes. Works as intended. edit: Just a couple caveats - The unit is not like a normal sub. You will not get the same volume as a traditional subwoofer. In fact, it's no where close. I'm guessing this unit bottoms out around 40hz or so. It won't hit the lowest of lows with much authority. The volume disappears. If you want something boomy, this isn't it. It does what I need it to do and does it well, which is to fill where the stock system is lacking. Just want people to know what they are getting. Edit 2: After installing a lc2i loc in my son's truck with great results, I thought I'd try one on the vpas12 sub. I did not expect how much better this sub would sound with their accubass. SQ went up a hundred fold. The sub no longer sounds peakish at certain frequencies and it digs deep. It isn't the loudest sub..not by a long shot... but it sounds awesome!

If your looking for deep crisp clean bass then pass on these. But if you want a really good well built speaker that will add bass to your system and will fit in a confined space then these are a great choice. I installed a pair of these in a 2001 silverado regular cab behind the seats. They compliment the sound system great. And produce a decent sounding bass. Your not going to win any competitions but will definitely make your system more enjoyable

What I thought was fluke with the reviews turned out to be true. Speaker all of a sudden stop working. Delivered on Sept 9, install on Sept 21, not working on Oct 7!! I really believed in Cerwin. Vega!! Home and auto apparently not the same!! Calling customer service now! Let’s see what happens!! Oct 7 ordered again now Dec. 16 not working again. Sounds like it’s blown. I have always made sure to turn the bass knob down all the way as to be extra careful, and still this has happened. I was wrong about Cerwin- Vega. Very disappointed I had Cerwin- Vega in my home for over 20 years but I suspect the Car Audio is much different! Wish I had better review. Also wish I had a Powered Subwoofer that lasted longer!

This little thing is a Beast. I installed it in my 17' Tundra Crexmax after purchasing on Amazon. Has good bass for it's size. Great for limited space and if you're looking to add more bass over regular factory speakers. Won't shake the block but does shake my seats, rear and side view mirrors. Installed it 2 years ago and it still plays with no problems what so ever. Just make sure it is installed in a well-ventilated space as the auto shut off feature will kick in if over heated to protect the unit. Can't go wrong with this. Very good for what it is.

If you want to shake mirrors look elsewhere. If you want to add bass to an existing system then seriously consider this. I put it under the passenger's seat of a 2011 Corolla with an upgraded radio and upgraded stock sized speakers. Exceeded expectations and nicely filled in the lows. It's a tight fit but the seat has full range of movement. Weird Note: The main speaker is 10 inches not 12, BUT there is a 2 X 8 inch band pass on the under side, in this case 10 + 2 = VPAS12 :-)

Compact "12 inch" sealed sub. Just like all the other that had bought this unit, it is to ad a bass line to your sound system, not to blow the doors of of your vehicle. With that said, Bass is clean ie. Good for what it is. Just remember that running a sub at 100% will kill it far faster then the old 35% to 40% capacity (as per recommended). Fits under seat of compact car (96 geo metro lol)

First off I'd like to make it clear that I just wanted to add some bass in my truck after upgrading the speakers. I had the unit hooked up in my Silverado for about 2 months and it just started blowing fuses one day. As soon as you put a new fuse in before you had the music on fuse would blow. Turns out inside of my unit both the positive and negative sides had an extra wire coming off the terminals. Separated the two wires And it works like a champ.

Installed this in my 2006 Dodge ram 1500 four-door SLT under drivers seat. 12” so It is slightly bigger. The only spot that would work was under the driver seat. At the same time I upgraded my sound system with four infinity speakers (2@6x9 3way and 2 5 1/2 2way and the pioneer AVH-W4400NEX double din receiver. I’ve only had it all for a few days but I am impressed. I haven’t gone all the way up and I don’t think I need to. The base doesn’t rumble your chest cavity but definitely very basey. Vibrates the mirrors and my Seat. You will definitely get looks from other drivers or pedestrians at the crosswalk. This thing could get you in trouble on the road. It’s freaking awesome!! I drove across the Skyway bridge between St. Petersburg and Sarasota With all the windows down 70 miles an hour radio up. I couldn’t hear any driving noises just my music. Get it !
