Just buy it.
It took me 15 hard wacks with a hammer to put a piece of rebar into the ground. Right next to it I used this, took three seconds with a with a rotary hammer and was effortless.PLUS: this is hardened steel. Much better quality than the others.

Saved a ton of work plus kept me off a ladder with a sledge hammer!
This worked great driving an 8ft grounding rod. Took less than 5 minutes

Bit thin walled
I've tried multiple solutions for driving ground rods through my Texas limestone in the past, including both a home-made driver bit and eventually a purchased one for my demolition jackhammer. Neither worked all that well, partly because the jackhammer is so heavy that balancing it on a ten foot rod doesn't work well. However, what my home-made version (a pipe welded on a cut-off jackhammer tip) taught me is that the sidewall of the tool is pretty critical, since the rod is going to bounce around inside the wider opening. That makes me worry about the longevity of this tool, since the walls are really thin compared to the one for my jackhammer. I'm hoping the overall lighter tool and smaller stroke of my SDS hammer drill will make it easier to drive the rods and get the energy into driving the rod down instead of just bouncing around side-to-side, but we'll see. My main reason for getting this was for driving electric fence posts using my battery powered SDS drill so that I don't have to drag an extension cord around my acreage. For that application, this should hopefully hold up indefinitely.

8 feet in 8 minutes!
I am installing multiple 8 foor 5/8" Ground rods for an amateur radio shack. I liked it, 8 minutes in semi dry clay soil. I will share with the other hams in my club. I am quite happy with the performance I used a Bosch hammer drill. There was some mushroom ingredients of the end of the rod, but that would have occurred regardless of whether I used a sledge hammer of a post setter. It will be easy enough to grind away the mushroom edges material so I could drop sme Ground clamps. If I had been thinking I would have just dropped the clamps onto the post before I started hammering it down. I thought about doing a comparison and driving the next one by hand but I would probably miss my next two meals and my 77 year old arms would be totally useless for the next week at least. This is a keeper, wish I had discovered this ground rod driver attachment years ago.
