Awesome - Keeps the seagulls and crows off my boat
Bought this and the sandbag base - it sits on top of my boat cover and has done an excellent job keeping the crows and seagulls off the boat. Until I had this they'd sit up there and eat their fish, most of it at least, leaving me the stinky mess of heads and tails. I was worried that the whole thing would blow off in the first windstorm, but it hasn't budged. Very effective, excellent product.

So far so good - my boat used to be a squatting point for seagulls, and the cover would be horrendous - this fixed it - it swirls back and forth with both the motion of the boat and the wind - this is especially good in no wind conditions, when a wind only based unit does not work - Yeah - no more hosing and cleaning seagull muck before every boat trip

This doesn't work. Simple as that.
Basically, this did nothing to stop the ducks from sitting and crapping all over my boat. After one week, the boat AND the Bird-B-Gone spider and sand base are now covered in white duck waste. What a waste of money.

Pricey but seem to work
We use these on a dock to keep away the Canadian Geese (they can make a mess in a hurry). We have seen folks try a lot of things that don't work (pinwheels, mylar, coyote decoys) but one neighbor had these and no goose poop. So far so good at our place. I mounted mine on some heavy wood bases. They do seem kind of expensive for what they are but if they continue working will be worth it.

Broken when received
Just re-ordered from another supplier. Received a broken one from Smarthome at the end of the boating season last year, but did not notice the problem until I recently opened it to install it on the boat and found it was broken. Unfortunately Smarthome would not accept for exchange since over 30 days had lapsed. I'm disappointed not in the product but in the customer service, under the circumstances.

Covering just a Small area
Not sure how well this item works... It advertise as 8' but like most others, it really is 4' on each side, so the area it covers is pretty small, which means that I would need to buy many of those to cover the area I need in my garden.So, I think so far, to help fruits and vegetable garden, placing those flashy ribbons works best!

No bird poop!!
Excellent product, no bird poop on our boat! Easy to use, we have two of them one larger one that we mount on the top of the boat and one on the bow cover with the sandbag option. HIGHLY recommend.

works for larger critters and turkeys
I had a group of about 20 pesky turkeys. They were taking over the front yard and the cat wouldn't go out if they were around. I also had a big possum coming under the birdfeeder. I mounted this on a 4x4 in the ground and works great. Both the turkeys and the possum are gone. Birds just eat around it.
