Master Tailgaters Replacement Ford Emblem Backup Camera for 2004-2016 F150 F250 F350 F450 F550 Ranger

It wasn't meant for my model year (2003 F150) but I made it work. It works perfectly. I set the foam seal on, marked the holes and drilled them. I then removed the camera from the trim to rough mark the hole for the camera. Using a dremel I cut out the area and ground the edges until it was open enough to seat the camera. I removed the tailgate and drilled a hole in the bottom and through the back edge of the bed. (rubber grommets for wire protection) I then zip tied to the stock wire harness and followed it to the drivers side floor board. I then brought the wires up and connected in to the ground and reverse power wire(black/purple stripe) & reverse sensor wire on the head unit. I added wire to the product as I did not want to connect at the taillight. Other than the scratch on the tailgate from the dremel, It came out perfect.

After doing alot of research, I decided to go with this product for my 2012 F250. I was not disappointed. I recieved it faster than expected, and when I opened it up, I was surprised to see a genuine Ford emblem in OEM packaging. After looking at everything, laying it out, it looked easy enough. I was waiting for my aftermarket reciever to arrive so I went ahead and got this hooked up. All in all, it took me less than 45 minutes, and most of that was running the wire along the frame with the rest of the factory wiring. The wires are plenty long, and I did not have to do any drilling. I was able to route the wiring through holes in the tailgate into the bed and up the frame with no issues. I tapped into the reverse light on the driverside taillight. I got my reciever in this weekend, I stalled that, plugged the camera cable up, and the rest was history. Every works great. Picture is clear, and the park assist lines are clear. It has the option to keep these or remove these, by just cutting a wire. Overall a great product for far less than alot of the other kits out there.

First off let me start by saying that if you want to add a reverse camera to a ford that DOESN’T currently have a camera installed this MAY work for you although there will be some pretty decent sized holes that need to be made. This comes with the emblem and camera plus the harness to run to a screen or viewing device (I assume). My reason for purchasing this item was to add an emblem and camera to a flat bed/welding bed. If this is what you are wanting to do then definitely DO NOT buy this product. I incorrectly assumed that this would be plug and play with my factory harness. It is not! Completely different plug and includes a yellow video plug which seems to be required for installation. Also, there is no mounting hardware included so you will have to wing it. I would love to be able to return the item but the build of my new bed took longer than expected and now I am outside the amazon return time frame. I plan to contact the seller to see if they will still allow me to return it at my own expense. If they agree then I will post an update. Otherwise I will be stuck with this camera and out the cash.

Arrived promptly, factory ford emblem, installed on my 2009 Ford F-150 tailgate w/o any problems - took more time to remove the old emblem adhesive than it did to install the camera and emblem on the tailgate, then ran the camera wiring under the truck frame and zip tied every 6” along the factory wiring harness to the driver side rear door threshold, then inside up to the new pioneer Head unit, Camera plugged in directly - worked perfect w/ sharp backup video - notes: 1) can just see my bumper mounted trailer hitch for backup alignment and distance, 2) there is a disconnect right about where you will run the wire out at the bottom of the tailgate, great if you ever need to remove your tailgate, used a wire wrap to protect the wires under the truck, and 3) the camera’s factory installed backup guide lines I went to turn off and use the adjustable lines from the radio, but after checking, the lines from the camera in a parking lot using water bottles as markers were dead on both side lines and depth markers - overly pleased, would highly recommend if you want a factory performance out of the way, high quality backup camera

I installed this on my 2004 F150 Lariat and wow does this make backing up so much easier. I have the backup sensors but this helps me hook trailers up a lot quicker. The picture quality is decent for a camera made in Taiwan. I got a Dual touch screen radio with Apple CarPlay and android audio and it works well with that. The actual Ford emblem that snaps over the camera is an actual OEM ford part which surprised me. I was happy about that. The installation isn’t too hard if you are a little inclined on installing and a tiny bit of fabrication. The only thing is I had to drill into the tailgate to get the screw anchors to fit. Also had to use my Dremel to cut a big enough hole to allow the camera to recede into the tailgate and have the mount to sit flush with the tailgate. If you have a newer truck not sure if you will run into that problem but be prepared! Overall I’m super happy with this purchase and it makes my truck seem a lot newer than it really is.

Awesome camera and pretty easy install. Installed on a 2005 F150 and had to drill the holes in the tailgate but came out perfect. Highly recommend.

I recently purchased this item for a 2014 f150 xlt w/o a backup camera. Upon looking at forums I have mixed answers on if this will correctly work with the sync 4.2” factory lcd screen in the dash. Waiting on warmer weather to complete the install. If anyone has any input on the matter my email is [email protected]. As for product review goes, seller shipped the item quickly, with what looks like everything you’ll need to replace and/or connect to an aftermarket head unit. Product looks just like an oe part.

Camera works fine. I had to tap my mirror wires to the video chord. First camera came with a pigtail for video cable to splice into mirror wires. Pigtail was used and damaged. Had 2 more systems sent and neither one had the pigtails. Assholes dont know what is required to splice video cable to mirror wires. I will never buy from Master Tailgaters again.

I bought this camera because it said it will fit my 2014 F150, the original stop working and i bought this one from Amazon and now that i am going to replace it i found out that the harness are totally different, they should have told me this cuz now i don't know what to do. Can anybody help me?

OEM ford logo is great. Picture quality is pretty good except the camera gets water inside the lens when its wet. I wouldnt really recommend it.
