Hello fellow Amazon shoppers. I just want to give a major shout out to this company, especially Zach in customer service. I've been an Amazon prime member since 2011 and have never left a review. Seriously. I feel kind of guilty about that, I do. But at the same time, that should tell you how blown away I am by Gorilla Mats’ customer service. There isn't a more deserving company to give my first review to.So on March 16th, 2019 I purchased the “Premium Extra Large Yogo Mat” for my home workouts. These mats provide that extra cushion when exercising while also protecting the floor. What I failed to notice when making this purchase, however, is that this is a BAREFOOT EXERCISE MAT. It is not intended to be used with any footwear. Anyway, I definitely used footwear- your basic Nike runners- for about a year. As you can see from the first picture, the mat took a beating and of course it did. It’s not meant to be used with shoes. I ended up calling a few weeks ago (March 2020) and complained that the mat isn’t living up to its claims blah blah blah and that I should receive a new mat under their warranty. That’s when I found out that the mat I purchased was meant for barefoot exercises and that it stated this in the product title.Most companies at this point would just give you the same spiel that the warranty only covers normal wear and tear and not improper use of the mat. This company, however, is different. They truly care about their customers and stand behind their product 100%. Here’s what they did.. they realized that this was an honest mistake and sent out a replacement workout mat completely free of charge! And this time, a workout mat that is designed for use with shoes. I have to say, so far this mat is amazing and I am extremely impressed with both their product and customer service. This is a great mat for simple stretching.

I purchased the 9' x 6' mat. I was looking for something to do the pilates videos I have. I have a few yoga mats, and out gym floor is covered with the foam puzzle tiles. Still I found the foam tiles get dirty easy, and slippery. My yoga mats never worked for me because my videos go forward and back and side to side, so I was always stepping off the mat. Since it looks like I'll be working out there a while (husband is working from home indefinitely, kids schooling at home.....), I decided this mat was worth the cost.The mat is as thick as I hoped (same thickness as my favorite yoga mat - bad knees) and it's huge. I can easily step in any direction or roll over or whatever and still be on the mat. I will say, I am 5'10" and the 6' side just cleared my head (so thinking a bit shy of 6'). The "bumps" on the surface are more pronounced than I thought, but not a deal breaker. The mat is squishy. There is more give than my mat of the same depth and I can see prints when I walk on it, but they disappear quickly. The surface is enough I would trust doing yoga on it. I really appreciate it came with straps, and a bag. I have 3 cats, and well, cats are jerks and think my mats are their scratching posts.....so i will roll it up after every use.I included two pictures. The first to show you the size. For reference, that yoga mat is a "long" one, about 85" if I recall. The second picture is to show the surface compared to my mat (Manduka Pro for reference).

This is easily one of the best purchases I have made. A friend of mine had one and I held off a long time on buying one due to the price. I finally caught it during a time when it was discounted and now that I have it, I wish I'd have just bought it earlier at full price because it is a game changer. I do a lot of stretching/mobility work, dancing, resistance training, and dancing in this mat. This one is not meant for shoes which is fine by me because I prefer to do my activities barefoot.I leave it down and have an 8x10 rug that I keep over it and just roll it up when it's workout time.I just love how big it is and how much room I have to move around. Just having it there makes me want to work out more!

Im satisfied with this mat after using it for a bit. It is soft without feeling too padded and is great underfoot while lifting weights. That being said, I do think it’s important to mention how slippery it can get - more so than any other mats I’ve used. It’s hard for me to do yoga on, as my hands and bare feet slip once I have the slightest amount of sweat. For safety, I have ended up needing to put another mat on top while doing those movements.If you are doing weights and wearing shoes, this mat works great. If you are doing bare hands and/or feet, maybe look into something with more grip.

I purchased the 9' x 6' x 8mm Extra Thick workout mat that was delivered on November 16. This product is a very high-quality mat and is working great for my stretching routine. It comes tightly rolled up in a carefully wrapped package. I put the mat on my hard laminate floor and because of the thickness of this mat, it is very soft when lying and stretching on it. On Black Friday, I noticed that the mat was $80.00 less than what I paid for it only a few days prior. I contacted the seller and immediately received a polite response thanking me for the purchase and informing me that they would refund me the $80.00 difference. Great product and a great company. 10 stars for this company and this mat!
