I recently had the opportunity to use the SMALLRIG V-Mount Battery Plate with my Sony A6700, and I couldn't be more impressed! This battery plate fits perfectly onto the camera and with the extension option it allows ample space for the additional Tilta cooling fan I have attached - essential for extended shooting sessions to help avoid overheating! The design is both compact and foldable, making it incredibly easy to transport without sacrificing functionality. I particularly appreciate the inclusion of both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes, which provide versatile mounting options for various accessories. As expected from SMALLRIG, the build quality is exceptional. The plate feels robust and secure, ensuring great stability when attaching a V-mount battery. Anything small rig is always quality. Only annoyance Ive had is the light grey button on the side gets knocked really easily which ejects your v-mount battery out.

This has become the foundation of my rig. However since I unboxed this item I have had issues with the lock mechanism on the bend. More specifically the plate will not hold a 90 degree angle (same as shown in the product advertisement video) and quickly loosens either fallings in and resting on my camera or sitting at a 120 angle where the lock seems to catch and hold. I've tried my best to look past this issue and carry on with this useful bit of kit that has become essential to my set-up. However, I have to admit defeat as it is just so frustrating. I believe that my version of this product must have a fault or small defect that's responsible for the locking issues. For the money I couldn't recommend this item because it is so annoying trying to tighten the locking system just for it to fail again after minimum movement or weight. A real shame, but after a few months of dealing with this I've had enough.

If you are buying or have bought one of these and aren't aware you can adjust the arca clamp...you can! Ive seen a few videos on YT showing that this clamp is too small for the arca plate on the camera cage etc. however you can unscrew the lever, remove it then reinstall it a few degrees either direction to make it clamp tighter or looser. Test to make sure all your arca plates fit, then replace scew and your good to go. Hope this helps someone.

Got this two weeks back, and wanted to test it before leaving a review. the quality seems very sturdy, each lever really locks the plate in, i did have to adjust one of the levers to make it lock all the way with my cage, but that depends on the plate/cage you use. the nob on the side locks or unlocks the rotating feature of the plates which grants you access to the flip screen. the nob locks perfectly in place and there is no loose parts. the only thing i wish would be a arca-swiss mount on the bottom, that that is easy solved by attacking a plate to the two screw holes on the bottom. The locking mechanism for the vmount battery seems very solid and has a nice dampend feel to it, and keeps the battery very secure. it also comes with an extra vlock plate for the battery, so if your battery has a plastic v-lock plate the metal one is a lot better. Also being able to adjust the distance from the camera to the plate is great both for fitting different cameras but also for balancing the camera with a battery. all in all a great product from smallrig.

The V-Mounts batteries are constantly falling out. The locking system is not working properly. I love the idea of this product, but it's not safe to use it while working
