Ports too close together for adjacent devices
I have the 2.0 version of this hub and I like it very much with one exception - the ports are too close together to plug in a PL serial/USB adapter and anything else. This also goes for usb sdcard readers - most of them won’t fit alongside much anything else. I don’t use thumb drives in this instance but I suspect some of them WILL fit alongside a simple USB-A cable but probably NOT alongside a PL serial cable.I use the 2.0 version with a raspberry pi0w as a power source and usb port expander. It does work very well. It is built very well, it’s quite solid, all metal and once screwed down it can take all the pushing and pulling required even for detaching the power plug. I hard wired it to my offgrid cabin 12v supply and its wide voltage tolerance is exactly what I needed.I would buy this 3.1 version in a heartbeat IF the ports were far enough apart to be used simultaneously.
