Fits fine but only started twice.
What the title says. The mower fired right up when I fit this. When I went to mow it wouldn't start - had to tap it and move the crankshaft. Started up, hoped it was intermittent. But the starter is just dead after 1-2 starts. Just spend on the OEM, I wish I had.

Works Great
Hard to install but that is not the fault of this starter. Fired up and started the mower on the first try. Works great.

good price, good starter drive. Bad fit. I had to put the new starter drive on the old motor to get it to start the engine. The new starter locked the engine.

I've used several of these this summer fixing mowers. Work on the single and v-twin briggs and stratton engines.

Had to make a small modification for the starter to work right
The starter gear ends up just a little too close to the starter ring on the motor. So what I had to do was shim the two bolts out away from the block so the starter gear wasn't quite so close. Works fine now with no hanging up.
