Worst bird feeder I have. Live in Rockport, Texas, where bird watchers visit from all over the world. In over a year and with food replaced to keep it fresh, have only seen one finch on it last winter. Difficult to clean.

The Nuttery bird feeders are some of the best made bird feeders !
This is one solid bird feeder. I don't know why the other reviewer couldn't get birds to use their feeder, but I get lots of birds to use it on a daily basis. Solid metal construction and the metal is not flimsy; it's sturdy ! Easy to clean and easy to refill. I love this feeder. Excellent quality. I highly recommend this feeder.

Well-built but not well-designed
This is a sturdy, well-made and attractive feeder but not very well designed for the job.The space under the handle at the top is tight, and made more so by the knob on the filler cap. I guess it would fit easily on the bracket provided, but is very awkward to fit onto my existing standard multi-feeder pole. The feed tube is narrow and the opening is partly blocked by a cross-piece holding the anchoring chain (good idea!) for the filler cap. This makes it very messy to fill, with a lot of spillage. Fine if you can hold it over your feed bag while filling, but not if you can't.There isn't enough space between the feeder tube and the outer cage for the birds!! I get mostly house sparrows and tree sparrows using it, with a few dunnocks. They don't use the perches as they are too short, they stand on the floor of the cage. They are squashed in sideways, pressed hard against the cage with their tails sticking out.Overall, despite the good build quality I wouldn't buy another from this manufacturer.

The nuttery Squirrel Proof Original Seed Feeder Green
We have had these feeders as well as the fat block feeder for about 4 years maybe longer and have no complaints at all, they can be dismantled for cleaning which is a good thing, also if you find the screw head becoming worn or the plastic tube cracking then these items can be replaced, we get a wide variety of birds feeding from these feeders such as Blue Tits, great tits, Nuthatch, lesser Spotted woodpecker and sometimes a robin will try to feed of these as well as long tailed tits and some finches. the squirrels have tried to get food but go away frustrated, as I have said we have had these feeders for 4 years and they are in good condition, and they are out all year round, if you start to feed the birds it must be all year round not just winter as the birds rely on this source, Ground feeders such as house sparrows Etc. wont use these and the robin will try but only if nothing else is feeding 5 STARS

Squirrel proof it isn't.
Complete waste of money. It was squirrel proof for 6 days, at which point it ceased to be squirrel proof and they destroyed it in their own inimitable manner. They chewed off the plastic fittings around the feeding holes on the central plastic tube. How it can be described as squirrel proof is beyond me. The Nuttery label which was attached suggested you could go to their website and register your feeder to activate the guarantee - what's that all about? I looked on their website and couldn't see anywhere where you could do this. So I contacted them via their website to ask them about this and guess what, zero response. I will not be purchasing any of their products in the future. On the plus side, Amazon were superb in their response to my complaint. They made it very easy to return the feeder and a full refund including postage was given. I really did expect a painful process in getting any money back from the supplier, but Amazon sorted it so big thumbs up to them.

Keeps the squirrels at bay.
Terrific! Keeps the pesky squirrels away from the food intended for birds. Been pleased with the one I've had for several years, which is still going strong.Mixed bird seed or Sunflower hearts are great in these, but crushed peanuts tend to stick in the tube, but I guess that's due to the oil in the nuts, not any design fault.Sturdily built and if kept clean, as you should for hygiene, and they seem to last without rusting. However, 18 months use now indicates rusting of the bottom closing plates of both my 'Nuttery' feeders and difficulty to thoroughly clean.

Nuttery Original Seed Feeder
This is quite a well constructed feeder so it should be robust enough to hang outside in all weathers. It seems to be predator proof - the old problems I've had with grey squirrels stealing bird food have disappeared. The only problem is that it seems to be bird proof as well! Small birds will hover outside the cage and peck quickly at the seeds, but they will not perch on or go inside the metal cage like the birds shown on the manufacturer's pictures. Maybe it's just a problem with the species of bird in my garden, if anyone else knows of a way to overcome this please let me know!
