One is fine, one is useless
50% success rate here on the two pack of tire tread depth gauges. One of them reads perfectly. Specifically, when placed on a flat counter, the depth gauge reads "0"...like it should since there is no depth on a countertop.The other one reads about -2, with the 0 being well above the reading line. So, the gauge is clearly off by quite a bit. I tried to fix it, but didn't have much luck. It's glued together pretty solidly, so I can't move it so that zero actually reads zero.Out of two gauges, one works great, and the other is pretty much useless.

Easy tool to measure tire depth
It is good to occasionally check the tire tread depth on all your vehicle tires. I have owned a couple of depth gauges before, but this one adds a green-yellow-red coloring to the depth readings to give you an idea where your tire depth health stands.Operation is easy, extend the gauge out fully, place the end at the bottom of a tread valley in the middle of the top of a tire, and push down on the gauge until the base is flat on the tread. You'll then have the tread depth.The color indicators on this gauge give green for at least 6/32", yellow is 3-6, and red is below 3.Great way to check your tire tread status, rather than relying on pennies and quarters to make those judgements.
