Very finicky, unreliable --> (Updated / Changed; everything is now good)
UPDATED REVIEW (March 29, 2020):After discussions with the manufacturer, and performing additional tests, it was determined that I had received an older version of the cables. They sent me the newer version at no cost. After testing with the new cables, which included a lot of cable movement / adjustments while the RAID arrays were built and running, there were no dropped drives or reliability issues at all. Everything worked perfectly. I'll also add that it was a real pleasure working with the supplier, as they were very professional and friendly throughout the process. As such, I've changed my review from 2 stars up to 5 stars.I would do business again with 10Gtek in the future, and recommend them.________________________________________________Previous post from February 4, 2020:(***NOTE: This is the outdated report that does not contain all the information and does not reflect current perspectives. It is only retained for historical purposes.)I have two LSI MetaRAID 9361-8i cards in a VMware host, each which are linked to an Intel 36x expander card. I have two sets of cables (four cables in all) in order to connect those expander cards to an external chassis.I first purchased a set of cables from another manufacturer that were twice the cost of these ones. When I came across these cables by 10Gtek and saw the much lower price, and the high user ratings, I thought these would be a great purchase for the second expander card. Both sets of cables have been in operation for a couple months now.Verdict:These less expensive cables have dropped connections numerous times, causing arrays to have to be rebuilt. Thankfully we haven't lost any data yet. Any time these cheaper cables are even bumped or moved a few inches in the middle portion of the cable (without touching the connection points), they almost always lose disks in the array, causing degraded arrays, and greater risk to losing data.By contrast, that has never once happened with the more expensive cables from the other manufacturer: even when moved, those expensive cables consistently maintain their connections to the drives.

It's a cable and it works
Cables seem to be high quality and lock in as expected. I plugged them in to a JBOD and all the drives were immediately picked up with no problems.

fully functionnal
perfect cable that do support u2 drive or m2 via adapter. much better than icydock overheating case as you can use any case needed or simple rack. Usage is straight plug over card or via sff8643 to 8644 and then the cable.. it will work.

Don't pass validation
Note: This review is for the optical version of the SFF-8644 cable. It shouldn't be listed as an alternate style or color or length, it ought to be on its own product page.I ordered two of these active optical SFF-8644 cables separately. They were both shipped in a padded envelope which resulted in one of the cable's connectors being crushed in shipping, which ruined the cable. The other cable looked fine but did not pass validation and would regularly result in disks dropping off the bus and ATA errors.I replaced these with Amphenol cables and have absolutely zero issues. You get what you pay for!

Does not work.
Poor quality cable which does not work. Compared to another cable that I have, the connector is not robust and does not snap securely.

Seen to work LSI9300 to Intel SAS expander
Work as intended. Needed to connect 4jbods and 18 lto 6 tape drives to a server through lsi9300 cards and these cables do the job fine. Title says three pack, it's not, just a single cable which I'd assumedb was the case based on the price
