OrthoStep Waxed Dress Round Shoelaces - Extra Durable - Shoe and Boot Laces 2 Pair Pack - Made in the USA

Great laces so far. Bought these to replace the cotton flat laces that came in my Dr. Marten boots. I was okay with the original laces but these wax round laces really dress up the boots and fit the style mich better. They actually compelled me to clean and condition the leather on the boots. You can see the lace compairson in the one picture before cleaning and the boots with both new laces fitted after cleaning in the second. Happy with this purchase so far, only time will tell if the laces will hold up and be as durable as they appear to be. Note, original laces were 36" and seemed a bit too long. I replaced with 32" laces and they fit wonderfully.

I bought 2 packs (2 pairs per pack) of OrthoStep Waxed Dress Round 34 inch long Extra Durable (1/8" Wide) Black laces following breakage of a one year old shoe lace that came with my shoes in the hope that the new laces would be stronger and last longer.When I went to put the new laces on my shoes I became concerned that they were too thick, because the tips seemed too large for the holes. However, a firm push got the aglets through the eyelets, and after that the laces slid through just fine.I like that the laces slide easily enough when tightening, but resist loosening on their own. Also the knot holds well. A single knot might stay for the whole day, but I have not tried that. As a standard practice (arising from the use of slipperier laces in the past) I tie two knots on top of each other on each shoe.I purchased the laces mid August 2018, and as of mid February 2019 I see no sign of wear. Who knows how many years these laces will last and how many pairs of shoes they will outlast!

So, I ordered these, not having measured what length I needed, and it turned out they're twice as large as what I need.... woops... especially, considering I ordered two pairs of these. Well, instead of going through the routine of having to order new ones, since my old laces broke, I just cut these in half and burned the cut end on each. Surprisingly, that worked like a charm. These are incredibly high quality laces. After breaking them in (they're a bit too waxy and stiff in the beginning) they became exactly what boot laces should be. They're very durable, look great... I don't know... I guess they're what laces should be to begin with, not like the cheap junk that came with my boots. Two thumbs up -- will definitely buy again.

The shoe laces arrived on time and they are good quality. I didn't have any issues that the seller could fix. I misunderstood the size chart and ordered the wrong length. I thought 9 = 72" meant if I wore a size 9, I need 72" laces. Actually the 9 referred to the number of pair of eyes on the shoe. I have 4 pair of eyes and should have ordered 30" laces. That is my screw up and not the fault of the seller.

At first I did not like them as they had a lot of wax on them and that made it very hard to pull the laces tight and also to loosen to get the boots off. I was tempted to just remove them but I did not have anything else so I wore them. After wearing them several times the wax subsided and now they are just nice. So now they are nice strong laces with just a little wax to hold as you would expect.

I have Allen Edmond McAllister shoes. I purchased this thinking they would fit. While they do fit, they are much thicker than OEM AE. I was able to get them in, but you can notice the difference in thickness. These laces are for older people shoes, I think. Given the brand name though, I should have known.Otherwise, the quality of the laces seem pretty good and don’t feel waxy when you touch them.

I've had a pair of these waxed laces on my everday shoes for about 1 month or so. At first (about 2 weeks) they were very stiff, because the lace is fairly thick (which I like), but they are heavily waxed. I considered putting them in the sun and wiping with a paper towel to take off some wax, but the wiggling back & forth over time has softened them enough. The final pulling tight of the know is still a little tough, because the wax makes them not want to bend tightly. But....they are easy to hold & manage (I have arthritis in both hands), and the tradeoff is worth it to me.

I think these are too thick for what I would class as "proper" dress shoes - would be more suitable for shoes a little more towards casual. I had to return and replace with "Very Thin" version.Quality was good and return/replacement process was very easy - I knocked off one star just because I think they are not really suitable for dress shoes.
