The recently deceased rise, feasting upon the living as a zombie outbreak spreads across the globe. In Central New York, a small Marine patrol, led by Seargent Ritter, tries to keep order. But while battling the living dead they are also faced with roving gangs going unchecked and entire military units defecting. Amid the chaos, a drug lord named Ray sees an opportunity to rule the new world rising, and he is sabotaging rescue centers and military bases to help further break down the Government's attempts to restore order. Who will survive when Ritter and Ray finally face off? Review: worthy of your time - Empire State of the Dead" is a low budget zombie movie, no doubt about it..it also takes it's inspiration from PREDATOR. But being a low budget zombie movie is not necessarily a death sentence, especially not if the heart and spirit is in the right place. And it is with this one. I wasn't familiar with anyone on the cast list, which is usually a good thing, because I find it nice to have new talents in a movie, so you don't associate them with other played characters in other movies. But of course, the acting performers need to be up to the part and have some acting skill. The level of performance in "Empire State of the Dead" was adequate; I have seen worse in other zombie movies, on all fronts. The music score to the movie was quite interesting, and it was rather fitting to the movie and to the genre. Don't get put off, check it out Review: BD-R - I hate paying good money for a burnt disc. I don't care if it's legitimate or not. They need to be labeled so in the product details.

Interestingly different zombie movie. Not everybody's cup of tea.
Off-kilter B Zombie movies has many unique moments. Definitely made me hit the rewind button again on certain scenes or wince at some of the kill shots. Originally I put this on as background noise, but within minutes it started became the main activity. Even though a little cheesy on some of the effects, I still would rate this better than the many trash that Hollywood been producing since the early 2000s. Strangely fun like the 80's Return of the Living Dead.

Collection of short videos with a tied, group ending.
the quality of the video and audio is ok. It's not a major budget production. It is a collection of semi-related shorts that all finish in a tied together story line on the last short. I like the fact that it is a group of locally shot/directed films.

Opening Credits Were Nice - Rest Bad, Very Bad
I have to admit that I did not make it to the end. But unless the last 14 minutes was better than Jaws, Citizen Kane and the Blue Brothers (the Belushi, Ackroyd one) put together, then I have to give it a 1, otherwise I make have been close to a 2. If you want to just see the best part, it was by far the opening credits, which had some nice graphics, however, it sets your expectations too high and and receive a big letdown.

It was not that bad, I Have seen a lot worse with better ratings, I give it two stars for not being as bad as I thought it would be.

negative 1 stars actually
If you watch this movie, just remember that you will lose 1 hour and 52 minutes of your life for absolutely nothing. Just don't.

Absolutely A Waste of Time.
Absolutely a waste of time. Apparently the director's attempt at horror comedy just turned out to be a horror in itself.
