Another amazing book
I brought this recently, I think I have read all of Torey’s books around 15 years ago and decided to pick them back up. Absolutely amazing story and a great follow on to One Child.

The Tiger's Child - very brief thoughts
I wanted to read it to find out what became of Sheila as she grew up. Like Sheila, I felt that she had been abandoned by Tori after a very intensive and supportive short period in her life.It was obvious that there was going to be a lot of concerns and unusual events in her teenage life. I felt that Tori was rather naive in the original book, but she was so young. Again, she showed a lot of naivety when going to meet Chad's family but she relly came through for Sheila in the end. What a gripping story and it was wonderful to find that Sheila actually made choices for herself in the end, with the huge support given to her by Tori.It sort of gives you hope for the future of some of the troubled children i have seen through my teaching career but it will need a tremendously strong character to succeed.

Great purchase & Great Read!
I ordered this book because I had read the first and wanted to learn more about the incredible relationship between teacher and child. It has not disappointed and I recommend the read.I used this supplier as I believe in recycling and reusing as much as possible so am always happy to read second hand books. The book was in excellent condition and this supplier also donates a portion of the purchase price to charity so a win win situation.

Fabulous book
I would recommend this book. My mum was fed up with me popping in to see her when she was reading this book before me as she didn't want to put it down. I felt exactly the same when I was reading the ebook version. You always want to know what happened next and with lots of books you don't get that compelling read feeling. Will read another book from this author.

I can't get enough of these books.....
I'm not reading these in the correct order but it's no matter as each of Torey Haydens books are as powerful as one another. It's been a while since I've read and not been able to put down the book...but I've not done much but read since my introduction tion to Torey and her children.

Amazingly caring teacher
What an inspirational woman Torey Hayden is .... she writes so openly and freely , she has an exceptionally patient nature.. so much more than a teacher helping the most vulnerable children deal with what they have been through. Cant wait to read her next book

Middle of Sheila's story
It was fun to read a book that I didn't want to put down. It seems that Tory put her heart above professionalism, but I'm not so sure that is a bad thing in this case. It's heartbreaking to realize how many children are raised without love, guidance or structure. The list could go on. When I finished "One Child" years ago I was left assuming that Sheila was on the right path, that she had a chance of a better life. Now that I find out differently, I wonder how Sheila's adult life worked out. The ending of "Tiger's Child,", which though realistic, was open-ended. l was left me wondering if Sheila would ever have a healthy relationship and if she had a child, would she be a good mother.

Sheila's story
The book more than met my expectations. The book detailed what happened to Sheila after the end of the original book 'One Child'. Would recommend it to anyone who has already read 'One Child' or to read 'One Child' first before reading this book.

Was nooFrom a homicidal six year old to a successful businesswoman was not an easy transition.
Placed in Torry Hayden's class for the most disturbed children, Sheila was just waiting for a bed in the children's psychiatric hospital after tying up a 3year old boy and setting him on fire, though he was rescued, injured but surviving. Torry found in Sheila a brilliant mind in the body of a 6 year old who had been abandoned by her mother, neglected by her substance abusing father, who brought men home who abused her terribly.Torry had such hope for Sheila's future she was able to keep her out of the mental institution. Shortly after that, the program Torry was working for closed. Torry arranged for Sheila to skip a grade and go into a teacher friends class for the next year. Torry expected Sheila to continue to thrive. She moved away to graduate school , then joined a private practice clinic. Torry lost touch with Sheila until she was 14. Things were not as Torr hoped. Follow Sheila as she moves in and out of Torey',s life.
