How Do You Save the World from a Virus?
Each book in this series has focused on a different member of the NERDS team, and this time around the focus is on Flinch. His special harness converts his junk food fueled hyperactivity into super speed and strength, but his jitters don't allow his brain to think and plan, so he is surprised when he starts being put in charge of missions. And there are a lot of them because it seems like every day some new super villain is cropping up with a new plan to take over the world. But when a member of NERDS does the same thing, they begin to realize that there is a virus on the loose.Meanwhile, the team has started a new school year at Thomas Knowlton Middle School, and their new principal, Ms. Dove, is watching them like a hawk. Can they still get away to save the day without getting into trouble? And will the entire world succumb to the villain virus before a cure is found? As with the other books in the series, this one features lots of action and some good suspense wrapped in some great laughs. I was always easily pulled into the book and the pages flew by. The action was almost non-stop, and a couple of the scenes actually did have me laughing out loud. I did find a plot hole (error? glitch?) in the climax, but it is a minor issue. While all the members of NERDS are in every book, the central character is the one who gets the most development, and watching Flinch grow was really rewarding. He'd been the hardest of the kids to figure out before, so I enjoyed getting to know him better here.Fans of the series will certainly enjoy catching the latest adventures of the team. I would recommend starting the series at the beginning since certainly earlier books are spoiled by what happens here.

Entertaining Reading
We have most of the Nerds books and my son really enjoys them. They are creative and fun and I think the author does a great job tackling many issues kids face in school today--not fitting in, bullying, and self-image, among other things. Really enjoyable books! Fun, witty and imaginative!

who's super powers originate from their supposed weaknesses - asthma inhalators ...
Book 4 in a series that I can't praise highly enough. My son is in the 6th grade, and HATES reading more than anything in the world. His teacher suggested this series, and I can't get him to put these books down. That alone is worth 100X what I paid. The story follows a group of spy kids, who's super powers originate from their supposed weaknesses - asthma inhalators that double as jet packs, braces that transform into anything, etc...They use their powers to save the world from various villains. In this book, there is a virus outbreak that takes over people's minds and is turning everyone into villains, even the spies themselves!

Finally, a great series for my picky reader!
My son is a very picky reader. He likes funny books, but has to "relate" to the characters. I have bought so many books over the past few years that have gone unread. I purchased the "NERD" series for him, and he can't put them down! I am THRILLED that he has finally found a book series that he loves and enjoys reading!

Awesome,cool,great,good,fun,and especially FUNNY!!!!!
This is one of the best books I ever read! The NERDS move to another school. Everything's good until Julio"flinch"Escala attacked some kids. Principle Dove is watching him now. Agent Brand realizes that something odd is going on, first a guy who works at NERDS tries to bomb Paris, than a guy who works at the mall shrinks the empire state building. On that mission they discover what is going on when Weezer tries to kill Flinch. Brainstorms New nano-bights are also a virus that's turning people evil. Only Flinch seems to be immuned to it. When the rest of the NERDS try to kill Flinch in Hollywood there's only one option. The remaining grown ups of NERDS send Flinch inside Brainstorms body so he can destroy the transmitter and save the world. But many dangers are in his body...I recommend this book for EVERYONE!!!

My son loves this series!
My 10 year old is not an avid reader, but when he finds a series he likes, I buy it! He loves this series! He has read the first and second book in the series, but had not read the third or fourth. He asked for the third and fourth books for Christmas, and he even went back and re-read the first and second books. He was very excited to receive this for Christmas!

Captured his attention
This was a great series for my son. He is in 4th grade and flies through books. Each of the diary of a wimpy kid and captain underpants books took him no longer than a day to read. Each book in the nerds series took him 2-3.
