A bit tight but an improvement over their last version
As a Vine reviewer I got a set of their previous version pedals and found then to not be worth buying. So when they revised them I felt I should try the new set. I'm pleased to say they do work better. These pedals are still a bit more work to get my Lake shoes to snap into. They feel a bit tight. I think in time they will loosen up though. Once clipped in I can twist my shoes some without releasing (like every other clipless pedal I own) but there's a bit of resistance. My other pedals there isn't any resistance. I don't think it's a bad thing.I have them on my trainer where there's no hurry to clipping in (since there's no risk of falling over). It also allows me to put more time on the pedals to get a better feel for how well they are made. The chrome plated parts that the clip locks into started showing the copper plating under the chrome the first time I used them. Maybe using stainless steel vs chrome plating might be an option? After a couple of weeks of use they are starting to loosen up. It still takes a nit more effort to clip in but the resistance to twisting is about half what it was when new.

Good Alternative to Shimano Pedals
These pedals are a fairly nice option compared to the shimano versions. However, you'll find a few differences that might be somewhat interesting to know about.Weight: These pedals compare to the mid-line of the Shimano SPD line rather than the higher line for example the XTR's come in at 314g and the XT's at 342g whereas these pedals come in at 346g so they're fairly close to the XT's in terms of weight.Performance: Bearings appear to be of a lower quality than the Shimano XT's and look to be along the lower quality lines of sealed bearings. Overall, they're decent bearings but they're certainly not a higher end ceramic bearing (but that also means less maintenance).Adjustment: The adjustment is a bit strange in comparison with the Shimano line, these use a protruded adjustment screw whereas the XT and XTR's use an embedded nut which keeps it out of the way of snagging.Price: If it's not obvious, the Thinvik pedals are at a much better value at nearly a 1/3 of the price point. This is a pretty great difference.Overall, I wouldn't race with these so to speak given the differences but as far as using these on a trainer, secondary bike or a just a project bike these pedals are great and would recommend for that.
