Fly-free summer!
These are fantastic fly screens, I'm very much enjoying my first fly-free summer. The magnetic strips down the middle mean the curtain snaps straight back together when you walk through it, and stays closed. It's dead easy to install - just cut the supplied velcro to size and stick it around the outside of your door frame, then attach the curtain to it. It comes with pins too for extra strength, which I'm going to need because the velcro has pulled off from the frame slightly at the top where it meets in the middle. It also comes with velcro ties so you can tie it back overnight to let your cat get in his cat flap.I did order a white one but I swapped it for another black one as the black is much more transparent - the white is very bright and I kept thinking it was snowing. Black is sheer and unobtrusive. The cat and dog were baffled at first and sat outside it asking to come in, but 10 mins of training and they were walking through it like it wasn't there. Not only am I very much enjoying having the doors open and letting the fresh air in with no insects, I can also leave the doors open at night without letting mozzies or moths in. And no more fly larvae on the cat food! When autumn arrives, I'll just detatch the curtain and leave the velcro up for next year.Overall a brilliant product, very affordable and will reuse every year. Makes summer much more chilled when you're not plagued by buzzing/biting insects. Would recommend and would definitely buy again. Just need some for my windows now...

FABULOUS-Works well great Value ... (Really should be 5 Star rating but slightly wrong size sent)
MARVELLOUS! has transformed my kitchen -I like to leave the kitchen door open, especially when cooking. Unfortunately, before it was always a matter of moments before large flies would arrive and drive me mad! This works brilliantly at allowing me to let in fresh air - but not flies! What surprised me most, was that the room actually felt like a peaceful 'haven' immediately after the screen was installed. I can't put it any differently - I hadn't expected that, not realising how just how annoying the flies. etc. really were. Once the screen was up, I could enjoy the fresh air and no intruders, it actually feels like a 'quieter' room now (?!).Great Price/Value; super easy to install; it opens and closes back up really well when you move through it. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was that I the size I ordered wasn't sent, instead a slightly larger size was. I could have tried returning it - but wasn't sure if the alternative size was sent because of stock issues and I was anxious to get it up. I 'suspect' it would have fitted 'reasonably' anyway as it was a close match - but as I have a sewing machine... I simply altered the width by an inch or so either side at the top and put it up - I LOVE this! Will not hesitate to buy more when needed.

Do your prep and take your time
If you do your prep on your uPVC doorframe and take your time with the install, don't rush, then you'll have good results. I used warm water & drop of Fairy to clean doorframe + kitchen roll to dry it; tape measure, spirit level, plumb line, scissors, pencil. If you don't have a spirit level use a spirit level app on your phone and a rule. If you don't have a plumb line tie your keys to the end of a long (ideally 2m+) length of string.Lay out screen flat on floot and measure to make sure it's the right size. Lay out the roll ofvelcro and flatten it (use a few books) and measure it to make sure it's enough (at least 4.9m for a 90x200 screen, my roll was 5m so I had 10cm spare.)Draw a straight and level horizontal pencil line on your doorframe where you want the top of the screen to be. If you get this straight and level then you are golden for an easy install and good results. Don't rush it. Find centre of your doorframe void (the bit you walk through) and mark it in pencil - this is where the centre of your screen will be. Don't use the centre of your entire doorframe because it may be wider on one side than the other.Measure 45cm (for a 90cm wide screen) from the centre to the left, make a pencil mark, do same to the right. Now you know exactly where the top edge of the screen is going to be. Use plumb line from these 2 edge marks so get 2 straight vertical lines, use pencil, and check width between vertials lines is correct approx halfway down the door and across the bottom. All good and you're golden.Cut 3 pieces of velcro, 1 x 90cm and 2 x 200cm (for a 90x200 screen) and fit the top horizontal first. Don't peel all the backing off, peel and attach in stages, use your pencil line, take your time. Then do the 2 verticals. Press onto door frame firmly again. Leave an hour or longer. Attach your screen to the velcro, top centre first out to one edge then the other, not the sides, just top edge. Check it's hanging straight, not getting tighter or slacker in the middle as it goes down. If need be peel off from a corner and re-attach until happy. Then attach the sides down to halfway, check fit again, then attach the the bottom half of the sides. If you find small gaps between the edges in the middle of the screen where it opens then you can move and/or gently bend the rods that are between the magnets. I had 3 places where small gaps where, but after a couple of minutes it was perfect. Mine's been up for about a month, still perfect.
