Hand down THE BEST EC / PPM Meter on the market!
This meter is absolutely amazing. It not only looks like it could be run over by a car and still work but it also comes with a hassle free 5 year no questions warranty from the manufacturer. When it comes to hydroponic products warranties are usually a sign that the manufacturer really put the time and effort into providing a reliable product - Blue lab is NO exception! I have been using this meter for about 4 months now and cannot remember how I lived without it. My tomatoes have also increased their rates of growth by almost 2x now that I have all of my nutrient levels perfectly dial in thanks to this meter!- Amazing construction- Spot on results (tested with calibration soln)- NO calibration needed.... EVER!- Easy cleaning of probe- 5 year hassle free warranty!- Batteries last for up to 3 years before needing replacement- #1 recommended by all hydroponic commercial farmersHow can you go with any other product? YOU CANT! This is the ONLY way to go for the worlds BEST EC PPM meter PERIOD!!!!

Spend the extra cash, and start with this meter
This meter works wonderfully and is built to take a little abuse from those of us who might accidentally bump it here or there. My only nit to pick is that I wish the variances between two points on the meter were done digitally so you wouldn't be second guessing if you're at 2.1, 2.2, or 2.3 based on flashing alone. It might not seem like a big thing, but when you're running a large backyard system on a single reservoir the difference between 2.4 and 2.0 can put significant water stress on seedling lettuce varieties.

Dead after five years
Work great but now dead. Run turn on test then nothing.

Great Price, Works as expected, High quality.
This is a newer model, my previous lasted 7 years. It would have lasted longer, had I removed the batteries in the off season. This won't register below 200ppm. Works well.

Excellent product
I got the commercial unit instead of the regular due to the wider range. Sure glad I did. I need to get down to at least 300 PPM, and this unit does it. Could not be easier to use. Recommended.

Robust Instrument
This TDS/EC meter is most definitely robust. It seems to be very precise as well. My only reason for docking it a star is because it provides a rough range - not an exact measurement. I would like to know what the PPM of my tap water is, but it is below the limit of detection (which definitely isn't a bad thing) but I want to know how effective my RO filter is as sequestering ions and this meter is unable to tell me that. Meters for <$20 can provide this information, however, they also need to be calibrated frequently, whereas this meter does not. Thus, you win some and you lose some.If you can afford it - I would recommend paying the difference and picking up the Blue Lab TDS/pH combo meter. It is highly resolved and provides exact measurements. But if you just need to know if your reservoir water for hydroponics/DWC is within a certain range - then this meter will suffice just fine.

Highly recommended
I've use this for two years. It woks perfectly every time. I use a drain to waste system for my tomatoes and cucumbers. This keeps everything at the proper strength. The only maintenence is to wash off the probe end after each use.

Two Defective Meter's received in a row!
I have purchased two of these Meter's within the past month and both were received Defective, completely worthless.Neither meter was activated when immersed in water as designed - they don't turn on at all! When the battery is closed the meter cycles the lights - so it's getting power. After receiving two defective Blue Lab Commercial Truncheon meters in a row, I'm annoyed and frustrated by the manufacturers lack of quality control. Both meters arrived via USPS and were delivered in sub freezing weather and left in the mail box. After being burned twice, I'm moving onto a local retailer - the heck with Amazon.
