Track Day Manual: The complete guide to taking your car on the race track

I had booked my first Track Day and was looking for some useful guidance on how to prepare myself and my car for that first day. The Track Day Manual provided lots of useful information and is divided up so that you can just dip into the points your interested in. It covers everything a novice would need to know, from choosing the right car, through how to drive, to those areas we would all rather not think about such as insurance, recovery and safety equipment.It is very much a beginner's guide, so whilst their are a couple of chapters on topics such as brakes, tyres, suspension and engine preparation, these are very rudimentary. What's important is that for a beginner you really don't need to worry too much about these areas, as you will be having so much fun what ever you are driving, and if the bug has bitten there are lots of books that cover these areas in great detail, including many published by Haynes.

perfect for learning the ins and outs of what is required for a novice driver. easy to read and broken down into good sections.

Great intro to going on track, with costs, hints and tips, safety and driving technique. Would benefit from more on engine mods and performance.
