Mikrotik CAP AX access points work and work well! Speed results are amazing for 2.4ghz ax and 5ghz ax! POE compatibility is a beautiful thing. I see bad reviews for this access point, claiming 15 years enterprise experience and could not vlan wifi. You can do vlans, and easily with multiple SSIDs! I do 3-4 SSIDs like guest, main, and IOT vlan networks using Capsman with ease - they have created two versions needed for old versus new access points utilizing CAPsMAN to provision APs, Suggest using ROS version 7.13 and higher as it works awesome with mixed Wifi 4 and 6. just add wireless package for older access points to manage with both CAPsMAN servers. Mikrotiks are not easy, and sometimes too difficult for some people who are used to plug play solutions or consumer grade equipment, where you don’t have to be qualified for an IT job to use. If you want customization, security, and solid products and have a small to medium budget, buy Mikrotik and spend some time with them. If you don’t understand the basics of how network protocols, vlans, etc work, then this product may not be for you. I use them with high end managed switches, high end firewall appliances, etc. They work when you actually understand networks, and you are not stuck on brand specific clis or guis. If you truly understand that “everything is the same except different” concept for network equipment, please make sure to try Mikrotik products out! I have been using them for 20+ years, If you truly grasp and understand networks, then there shouldn’t be any brand or product you cannot figure out how to use. Are there lemons? - YES. That’s why amazon has the return policy. Not everything is perfect.

If you want learn full control of your network this will let you learn all of the settings and how the actual network does, you have to fully understand then make setting suits or you will fail at the first stage, my combo is RB5009 and this one together works like charm

There really is no case for buying anything from Ubiquity as long as Mikrotik keeps doing what they do and one has half a brain to manage it.

These are great access points. I have one setup as my master and another two just pulling their configuration automatically. Gives me central control over all my WiFi networks and way better coverage than I’ve ever been able to get with ISP kit, but without paying full enterprise prices.

This works great for super detailed configurations with VLANS etc. Also works well with Mikrotik routers and capsman etc. However not something I would recommend to a normal end users due to the technical setup requirements. The range is fairly limited as well. We have it located in the center of the house (which isn't overly large) and get some limited signal in places.
