Samsung DVD-V5650 DVD/VCR Combo

For a refurbished combo, and its price, it's worth the risk. New combos are expensive, if you can still find them. The DVD stopped working a couple of months after purchase, but as long as the VCR works, I'm happy. I bought it mainly for the VCR. I'm satisfied.

I bought the Samsung DVD V5650 as a Christmas present and by February I was told that the VCR did not work. I was appalled. Not even two months and the d*$mn thing was not working. I tried to rectify the situation and found out that the place that shipped it to me, J&R Music World, has a horrible user UNFRIENDLY policy. You need to have the carton, All packaging materials, inserts, manuals, warranty card (not filled out) and all accessories for a 30 day minimum in the event of a need to return this product. So, I did not make the 30 day cut off and had to deal with Samsung. The first customer service rep was sooooooooo slow and clueless. The 2nd rep informed me that I had to send the machine back for REPAIR?! Repair?! They should be sending me a new one. I just bought it and it does not work! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.... I am off to the post office (Yuck!) to send it for SERVICE. I am so LIVID right now.

I suppose the machine works alright, but it is a nuisance to have to get up and press manual buttons to make it work. No advance warning was given that there would be no remote control included. Also, the connectivity was not clear, as in, what cable options are there to connect my satellite receiver and TV? What recourse do I have as a customer? Can you ship me a working remote control? Buyers, look into these things before you order!

Came within a week! Very clean, and new looking! I hooked it up, and the DVD didn't work---BUT THAT IS ON ME!! I tried a blue- ray without thinking. I put a regular DVD in, and BAM! Great EVERYTHNG! I used a VHS cassette adapter to play our many home camcorder videos, and had a blast watching my girls grow up--again! LOL. SADLY, no remote! But I programmed a universal, and I can stay on the couch and enjoy!. Thank you for being an honarable seller!

The DVD VCR player works very well. It arrived in its original unopened box as promised. It works much better than the small DVD players I tried when my old DVD VCR player finally stopped working after many years.

I purchased this item for my brother who is in an assisted living facility. We could not get the unit to work at all. I brought it home and hooked up to one of my tv's and it still would not work. I contacted the seller but they never1 replied. We are out $174 and my brother is unable to enjoy his movies.

It did not come with a remote. We had to order a remote on line because we could not find a remote in a store that had VCR control. The universal remotes do not open the DVD or eject the VCR. A well lit area is needed to see the players functions on the front.

Bought for a Christmas gift for my granddaughter. Checked it out. Seems to work fine. Only regret is there was no operators manual.
