Nikon Z6III Camera

This is a brilliant camera. In many ways it can do too much because there are so many menu choices but when set up it is a joy to use and delivers great image quality. I also have a Z7ii for landscape and architectural phtography but the file sizes are huge, and the autofocus less good for action shots . The Z6iii resolution is more than adequate for 99% of uses, unless you want to print larger than 20 x 30. With a good prime eg 40mm - either Nikon or Viltrox - and a Z mount Nikon zoom like the 24-120mm f4 the images are outstanding. Interestingly the older non-Z-mount Nikon 24-120 with Z mount adapter is significantly less sharp. If using Viltrox primes check the firmware, early releases had unstable focus. Camera handling and functionality are great but one minor niggle; the playback button has been moved from the traditional top left position to the bottom right of the rear panel, a change my muscle memory struggles to adapt to. Another thing to watch out for is battery charging. You can only charge in-camera using a USB C to USB C cable. Older USB A to USB C cables that charge phones etc and earlier Nikons, perfectly well do not work with the Z6iii. I spent ages wondering why the charge light was not coming on. NB the Ken Rockwell video guide to setting up the camera on U Tube is very good, clear and succinct. All-in-all though a mirrorless triumph. Finally why this rather than the Z5ii? Depends how much extra you are prepared to pay for nearly identical cameras. For me the top screen is really helpful, key settings at a glance. Also it is a more modern sensor with faster autofocus read-out, and as a 6 series build quality feels really solid.

Fantastic full frame camera with many features and settings to explore. I will use partly for video as well as photos, from other reviews this is a great camera for both. Nikkor lenses are quite expensive so I bought the FTZii to allow me to use my existing lenses for now. I intend to buy the 24 to 120 or 14 to 30 Nikkor zoom lens when funds allow!

This is my second Nikon Mirrprless camera and paired with the outstanding Nikon optics is gives amazing results . I will quote from David Busch's Guide "the Z6III is a serious upgrade from its predecessors" . Although I feel I should wax lyrical about the many improvements, the ease of use and mostly logical controls I will leave the superlatives to others. This is simply the best & most user friendly camera have owned over the last 60 plus years (I started with an Exakta VX 1000 )

This is my first mirrorless and the vast menu options are a bit frightening. Coming from a D750 there is a lot of commonality with controls and menus which helps a lot. Also the options are well explained on the screen. Amazon is an authorised Nikon seller so I made sure that this was sold by Amazon. There are several other sellers on marketplace that sell "grey" imports a bit cheaper. My advice is that if you decide to buy grey imports to save money then go to Panamoz and the like with really good prices.

All I can say is that it's an amazing camera—worth it. I'm getting sharper photos, and I love the eye detection.

Use this camera for my hobby really pleased with it apart from no charger with it you have to plug the whole camera in!
