This tool works with "Pass-Through" connectors (where the wires poke out the front), and it trims them flush automatically when you crimp. It makes it nearly impossible to mess up the color order. Solid Build: It doesn't feel like a cheap plastic toy. It has a heavy steel frame and a smooth ratcheting action. Consistent: Every crimp I made tested perfect on my network tester. No loose pins. The One Thing to Watch Out (Read this!): The Stripper: The built-in cable stripper is very sharp. If you clamp down fully, you will nick the copper wires inside the cable. Fix: Practice on a scrap piece of wire first. You only need to rotate the tool once with very light pressure to score the jacket, then snap it off. Once you get the "feel" for it, it works great.
